Controversial Forensic Investigator Paul O’Sullivan Threatens Urgent Court Action To Block Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi’s Appointment As National Hawks Boss
Forensic investigator Paul O’Sullivan has threatened urgent legal action to stop KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi from being appointed as the national head of the Hawks. O’Sullivan warned Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia that his organisation, Forensics for Justice, would challenge the appointment unless the process was suspended or opened to public scrutiny.
In an email dated 29 October 2026, O’Sullivan argued that Mkhwanazi did not meet the legal requirement of being a fit and proper person under Section 17CA of the SAPS Act. He referred to allegations and outstanding criminal investigations that he claims implicate Mkhwanazi, based on submissions previously made to Parliament’s ad hoc committee and the Madlanga Commission.
O’Sullivan warned that any attempt to appoint Mkhwanazi would be met with an urgent judicial review. He also cited the previous legal challenge against former Hawks head Berning Ntlemeza, whose appointment was set aside by the courts in June 2017 following litigation by the Helen Suzman Foundation and Freedom Under Law.
O’Sullivan has urged Cachalia to restart the process through public applications, shortlisting and public meetings, instead of proceeding with the proposed appointment. Cachalia has already submitted a Cabinet memorandum seeking approval for Mkhwanazi’s appointment, but Cabinet has yet to announce its decision. O’Sullivan has demanded acknowledgement of his email before taking further legal steps.
Why did they lump them together 😬😬😬😬

Five foreign nationals, aged between 25 and 50, were arrested by the EMPD Intervention and Cable Theft Unit for allegedly possessing a hijacked motor vehicle.
The arrests took place after officers received information from a reliable source about a silver-grey Land Rover reportedly hijacked in Zonkezizwe.
Acting on the information, officers proceeded to Qwabe Street in Thokoza Extension 1, where they allegedly found the five suspects busy stripping the vehicle.
The recovered vehicle was towed to the Aeroton police pound for safekeeping and further investigation.
The suspects were detained at Thokoza Police Station and are expected to appear before the relevant Magistrate’s Court soon.

NPA SECURES RESTRAINT ORDER OVER R99 MILLION IN ASSETS LINKED TO ALLEGED EXTORTION SYNDICATE
A provisional restraint order over asets currently estimated at R99 million, linked to Joe Sibanyoni and others who are alleged to be involved in organised criminal activities, including extortion has been secured.
BREAKTHROUGH BY: The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), through its Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) in Mpumalanga, in collaboration with the NPA’s Organised Crime Unit and the South African Police Service (SAPS).
On 28 September 2026, the AFU obtained an uncapped provisional restraint order from the Mpumalanga Division of the High Court, Middelburg, in terms of section 26 of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act 121 of 1998 (POCA).
The order emanates from ongoing investigations by SAPS into alleged criminal activities involving extortion and related offences linked to Sibanyoni and others.
The restrained assets comprise movable and immovable property currently estimated at R99 million. The restraint order was obtained on the basis that the assets constitute realisable property and represent benefits allegedly derived from criminal activities.
The assets include properties in exclusive golf estates in Centurion, as well as several houses and estate properties in Centurion and Pretoria. Luxury motor vehicles subject to the order include Ferraris, a Porsche, a Lexus, Mercedes-Benz vehicles and BMWs.
The defendants are also required to surrender various bank accounts and investments to the curator appointed by the court.
The restraint order advances one of the key objectives of POCA, namely to deprive persons of the proceeds and benefits of crime.
Organised crime, in its various forms, poses a serious threat to South Africa’s economy and communities. If left unchecked, extortion and related criminal activities undermine legitimate businesses, discourage investment and impede economic growth.

BREAKING NEWS 🚨
Cachalia Seeks Court Interdict To Stop March And March Protests In Durban
Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia has approached the High Court seeking an urgent interdict to restrict March and March Movement protests in parts of Durban, including around the Department of Home Affairs Refugee Reception Centre on Che Guevara Road.
The case, **Minister of Police v March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma**, is scheduled to be heard on Friday, 30 October 2026, at 10:00.
According to the amended notice of motion, Cachalia wants the court to prevent Ngobese-Zuma and other members of the movement from organising or participating in marches, processions and protest convoys within the defined area of eThekwini Municipality.
The proposed restrictions cover the Durban CBD, Berea and the vicinity of the Refugee Reception Centre, including Che Guevara Road, formerly known as Moore Road.
Cachalia is also seeking an order prohibiting Ngobese-Zuma and the other named parties from committing, encouraging or assisting acts of violence, intimidation and property damage.
The conduct listed in the court papers includes assaulting or threatening members of the public, looting, setting fire to or damaging homes, businesses and vehicles, attacking the Home Affairs premises, and coercing people to close businesses or leave their homes and workplaces.
The application further seeks to prevent the obstruction of entrances and exits or the use of threats and intimidation to deny people reasonable access to buildings and premises.
The matter is brought as an urgent application under Rule 6(12) of the Uniform Rules of Court and references the Regulation of Gatherings Act 205 of 1993.
Cachalia is asking the court to issue a rule nisi requiring Ngobese-Zuma and the other named parties to show cause why the requested restrictions should not be confirmed. The court has yet to decide whether to grant the relief sought.
The application does not seek a blanket nationwide ban on protests. Instead, it targets specified March and March activities within eThekwini, particularly around the Refugee Reception Centre.
The legal action follows repeated demonstrations by March and March outside the Durban facility, where the movement has campaigned for stricter immigration enforcement and raised concerns about foreign nationals working in the delivery sector.
During a protest on Tuesday, Ngobese-Zuma said the movement had been marching for 21 months and accused the government of attempting to prevent it from exercising its right to protest.
Ngobese-Zuma and the movement have described the proposed court action as an attempt to curtail their constitutional right to protest and have called on supporters to attend Friday’s hearing.
The application comes amid heightened security in Durban, following recent tensions surrounding protests and violence linked to immigration-related grievances. The government announced the deployment of 510 South African National Defence Force members to support police in maintaining law and order in the city.
The case remains pending, and the requested restrictions should not be treated as an existing court order.
Dear #Kzn #Anc #Voters. #RAMAPHOSA is sending the #SANDF to protect foreigners. Get it to your thick skull. You mean nothing to the useless ANCriminals.

THIS MORNING!
His ears cut off.
Beaten.
Shot in the back.
Stabbed.
This morning, cattle farmer Donovan Marx was viciously attacked on his farm between Potchefstroom and Ventersdorp in the North West. He was severely beaten. His ears were cut off. He was shot in the back/shoulder (doctors were still trying to remove the bullet) and stabbed in the leg with a sharp object. He’s fighting for his life in a Potchefstroom hospital.
A family member left the farm shortly before 8am. Attackers then struck. A farm worker was tied up but managed to free himself and raise the alarm. The attackers fled in Marx’s truck. They’re still free. VF Plus says the full details of the torture are so disturbing they won’t even publish them.
This is not “ordinary crime.” This is the same pattern of extreme brutality; ears severed, severe beatings, shootings, stabbings that has been targeting White farmers for years. English media is already silent. No front-page outrage. No presidential condemnation. If the roles were reversed, it would dominate news for weeks.
That frog will forget about her by tonight when he is on his mansion
