How good must it have felt when the printing press was invented? To see the work that would take years of effort done in a day.

Would you want to rank Beethoven and Bach, one against the other? I think it is a mistake to try. Our lives are much improved by having both! "Bach+Beethoven" > "Bach>Beethoven".
Bach Coltrane *tier gap akin to the gap between the seventh heaven and the firmament* Beethoven Davis Mozart

The best book for this feeling is The Napoleon of Notting Hill, by GK Chesterton "you look at a thing nine hundred and ninety-nine times, you are perfectly safe; if you look at it the thousandth time, you are in frightful danger of seeing it for the first time."
This for everything.

As much as I enjoy Brave New World to be the better of the Dystopian futures, I think that both it and 1984 aren't going to last as literary classics, their value was in their accuracy in predicting the future, but why read BNW or 1984 when it will be History?

Whether an author enters the canon is tied to whether they have one great work that others dialogue with. Even geniuses like Chekhov get left behind by the conversation.

1 Kings 10:14- The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents. Revelation 13:18 - This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666. Where to from this?

In a lesson on medical genetics the professor went on to tell us that during, sister chromatids cross over, forming "chiasmata", to maximise the possible outputs from the information present, without the chiasmus you get less possibilities. Just like in ancient literature.

Crazy synchronicity because only yesterday I seriously started diving into chiasmus, in the Merchant of Venice and T&C! All thanks to @miltonappl3, who got me started on looking into it.
