🎬 THE DEVIL'S WRIGHT HAND | SNEAK PEEK
For nearly two years, @FITSNews has listened as former deputies, drug dealers and witnesses alike have come forward alleging a sprawling network of crime, corruption and cover-ups tied to the disgraced administration of former South Carolina Sheriff Chuck Wright.
Once hailed as a fervent pro-Christian lawman and fierce anti-drug crusader, Wright walked out of the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office after 21 years as its top cop, only to walk into a federal courthouse and plead guilty to a series of public corruption charges in October 2025.
Now a convicted felon awaiting sentencing, sources continue to point to an untouched network of Carolina kingpins and out-of-state operatives previously accused of laundering millions, some of which appears to have flowed directly into Wright’s first bid for sheriff in 2004.
”I knew what I was doing," said a former deputy who claims complicity in the web. "Chuck knew what he was doing. But even the Bible says, false prophets walk amongst us."

🧵 A few standouts from the thousands of pics I snapped this week for FITSNews as state, national and international news played out across the Palmetto State, from a historic political upset to a nationally recognized murder case once again stalling in circuit court.

Wilson’s celebration came moments after interim U.S. Sen. Darline Graham (Nordone) conceded her late brother’s seat to Democrat Annie Andrews.

Well, well… Republicans are having a bad night in South Carolina. FAFO. @DarlineGrahamSC (Nordone) is dragging down the entire ticket.

Our @RealAndyFancher with another installment in the Spartanburg County saga that won't quit...

🎰 A weighty tip to @FITSNews has placed yet another video poker-tainted felon in the orbit of yet another South Carolina sheriff. Readily available Facebook posts show the former federal inmate, who once served as a deputy in that very department, praising the sheriff for leading what he calls a “first class agency.”
Need we remind law enforcement that gambling, specifically of the video poker variety, has been illegal in the Palmetto State since 2000?

‼️ THE CHUCK WRIGHT TAPES, PT. III
For the past three weeks, @FITSNews has been rolling out the handful of recorded interviews the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (#SLED) surrendered from its ill-fated probe into former Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright.
While most of the interviews SLED either conducted or sat in on remain withheld, with no real explanation as to why, what we’ve already released shows Wright lied to the feds about his credit card spending and that his chief deputy knew of the sheriff’s opioid abuse for years.
Our latest installment takes yet another turn. Danny Shields, who supervised the sheriff’s office civil division for roughly two decades, told agents that Wright’s cousin and federal co-defendant, Lawson “LB” Watson (#pictured), showed up, served papers and did his job for years.
Shields held that line, and then some, with SLED Special Agent Austin Mills and #FBI Special Agents Justin Newsome and Erin Carlisle. Despite Shields’ insistence, Mills later wrote in his case notes that “Danny Shields knew that Watson did not work.”
Watson, meanwhile, was sentenced to 16 months in federal prison for what prosecutors maintain was a “no-show” job scheme to keep him on the county’s insurance and payroll for decades.

Mainstream media thinks this story is over... this story is just beginning.
Our @RealAndyFancher is still digging... searching for the accountability prosecutors left on the vine as they selectively prosecuted one of the most powerful lawmen in South Carolina history.

‼️ LIES, LEADS & LOOSE ENDS: THE CHUCK WRIGHT TAPES
With former Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright now behind bars, @FITSNews has obtained nearly 14 hours of never-before-heard interviews conducted during the multi-agency probe that netted three federal convictions and zero state-level charges.
Secured through #FOIA, the case-file tapes feature then-Sheriff Wright himself, his unindicted Norco 10 supplier, then-county councilman David Britt and a host of sheriff's office personnel who offer wildly inconsistent accounts of "no-show" employee LB Watson.
"The whole thing is sickening," said a multi-decade sheriff's office veteran familiar with the case. "I'm ashamed to tell people I used to work there… The only thing I can say now is burn the whole house down."
