I have been doing a lot of research about Israel lately because I didn’t understand all this unwavering support for Israel and didn’t want to be considered anti-Semitic because I have heard Jews were considered God’s chosen. I am completely OPPOSED to sending American taxpayer dollars to support Israel. PERIOD! While the US played a part, there are international actors that played a much larger role in Israel's early statehood and founding, including Great Britain (which held the mandate over Palestine), France, and the Soviet Union (which backed the UN partition plan and indirectly supplied early military arms via Czechoslovakia). I read that during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, the US actually imposed an arms embargo on the region, and President Harry Truman's administration did NOT provide military intervention to establish the state. And the close strategic and military alliance between the US and Israel did not form immediately in 1948. It developed gradually, deepening significantly after the 1967 Six-Day War evolving through the Cold War and regional foreign policy interests. I love and respect all of the Jewish American citizens here in the US but I do NOT support Israel, Netanyahu nor the far right Zionists. In fact, I recently learned through DNA that I am Jewish on my mother’s side. My grandparents immigrated from Poland through Ellis Island in New York and settled in Long Island to escape the persecution of the Jews, though my grandmother was a practicing Catholic. Netanyahu is a war criminal who orders his IDF to continue bombing and murdering the innocent Palestinian civilians. What the fuck is wrong with him? There is supposed to be a cease-fire yet he continues to attack Gaza. What kind of depraved person orders the execution of innocent women and children? And were you aware over 200 journalists have been murdered to cover-up the truth. And Netanyahu ordered the murder of volunteers with organizations like the World Kitchen whose sole purpose being there is to feed the hungry. I believe Netanyahu does these things out of spite to cause the suffering of those people. I could go on and on about the atrocities committed against the Palestinians. Maybe I am missing something here but I really do not think so. Netanyahu is up for reelection. He hopes to win to avoid being prosecuted for his corruption. And he will go to any lengths to avoid prosecution. Why do you think he wanted to attack Iran? Because my understanding is he remains in power as long as the country is in war. Anyone who supports this war criminal and votes for him is complicit in his evil!
