🚨 SERBIA, WAKE UP: 2026 IS BEGINNING TO LOOK UNCOMFORTABLY LIKE 1917. I wasn't planning on posting this late tonight, but an anonymous individual claiming to be a Student List Leader has been bombarding me with hostile, vulgar and insulting messages after spending considerable time reading my posts about the Serbian Electiosns and asking questions on who really are the Student List there leaders and most importantly whose funding, supporting them. Whose pulling the strings? Instead of answering my questions, I'm being told I don't understand the movement. Apparently, it's a leaderless movement based on direct democracy!!!!!!!!!!! Now, here's where the historical comparison becomes interesting. The Bolsheviks also claimed to represent ordinary workers, the oppressed and the forgotten. They presented themselves as the authentic voice of the people, rejected the existing political order and promised to build something entirely new. But there was a fundamental contradiction: whoever claims to represent the entire people will eventually begin treating everyone who disagrees as an enemy of the people. In January 1918, Lenin dissolved Russia's elected Constituent Assembly after the Bolsheviks failed to secure a majority. Opposition newspapers were suppressed, and political power became concentrated in the Bolshevik Party. The lesson isn't that Serbia is Russia in 1917 but it's got alot of the similarities by way of Revolutionary slogans and claims to represent ordinary working people and leaderless movement based on direct democracy? A leaderless movement based on direct democracy? But who makes the decisions? Who controls the strategy? Who determines its political programme? Who negotiates with foreign governments? Who controls the Monetary System? Who chooses the people who will occupy positions of power? And who is accountable to the Serbian public? If nobody is in charge, who is calling the shots? Student List supporters and now leaders keep screaming at me this is something new, something revolutionary, something I simply don't understand. But perhaps they should explain it rather than bombard people with hostility, vulgar and insults for asking questions. Serbia is not a university experiment. It is a country of millions of people. The Bolsheviks promised power to the people. But the question of who actually holds that power became the defining issue of their revolution. In 2026, Serbia and its people need to ask that question before handing anyone the keys to the state. A movement does not become democratic simply by claiming to represent the people yelling "trust us, we the people" And a new revolution does not guarantee freedom simply because it promises change. WHO LEADS? WHO DECIDES? WHO ANSWERS TO THE PEOPLE? Those are not hostile questions. They are the bare minimum requirements of any democracy, including whatever the Student List thinks they are creating!
