Thai media are hungry for a Cambodia scare story and decided to completely mischaracterize an unchanged U.S. State Department travel advisory.
Amarin somehow turned it into “U.S. warns tourists: do not go to Cambodia.” Manager Online went with “Dangerous territory!” TOP News simply screams “Danger!”
The actual advisory is UNCHANGED and remains at Level 2. The “Do Not Travel” warning is for areas within 50 km of the Thai border because of the Cambodia-Thailand conflict.
And Phnom Penh crime? This is the typical overly cautious State Department due diligence, not some new warning that tourists should stay away.
If this is the game Thai media want to play, maybe the State Department should issue a special Pattaya warning. Take every robbery, scam and ugly crime story there and run “DANGEROUS THAILAND!” across the top. Same standard.
Great statement by @C4Center on the recent decision to allow criminal @NajibRazak to serve his sentence in luxury in home detention.

And so here we are. This statement from Trump blows my mind. That a sitting president would not let any renovations to a public building go on unless he gets to first put his name in the said building… What a sad state of affairs. What a tragedy. Actually, how small minded, how narcissistic. Actually
great men, devoted to public service and the public good do not act like this.
It seems that this man will not rest until his name is permanently connected to the name of a great president, whose memory this building was dedicated to. Imagine spending your time and your days focused on this, as everyday Americans struggle with healthcare, gas prices, rent, and food. Imagine spending your days focused on this, while a war rages under your leadership.

Thailand's military learned the lesson of the #Myanmar's SPDC regime when it comes to Constitutions -- which is make it almost impossible to revise, reform, rewrite. Just like the 2008 constitution forced on #Burma's people, @prayutofficial & the NCPO 2014 coup group wrote a constitution guarded by multiple mechanisms to prevent changes. And then just like the Myanmar SPDC regime, Gen. Prayut & the coup-makers conducted a fundamentally flawed referendum in which it was actually a crime to advocate for voters to say "NO". Now #Thailand is shackled with a Constitutional monstrosity born of a military coup & the ultra-conservative vision that guided it. This is an ongoing disaster for Thailand's democracy.

The UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD)'s decision on the Mother Nature Cambodia 5 (@CambodiaMother) is a slam dunk decision that finds the #Cambodia government is completely wrong to detain the #MNC5.
