A Court in Oregon has granted Ismail Habib's Motion for TRO, preventing the NCAA from declaring him ineligible for the 2026-27 basketball season. The NCAA had denied his hardship waiver relating to his 2024-25 season with Portland State. The court took issue with the NCAA's denial based on the player not providing contemporaneous medical documentation.

What moved today.
Nevada (Cruz). Parties agreed to stay the case because Cruz is already in the Wisne class. Judge Miranda Du signed off Aug 11. His TRO and PI motion are held, not denied. The case only wakes up if Wisne stops protecting him. The NCAA did not fight this. A federal court outside Colorado recognized the class and paused.
Kentucky. Mark Mitchell and 9 athletes (basketball, football, baseball) filed in Louisville state court before Judge Brian Edwards seeking a fifth year and portal access through Aug 18. Hearing moved to Friday Aug 14, 11 a.m. ET. Requests only. No order granted. Mitchell shows the gap. Wisne protects the fifth year but does not provide a roster spot or portal access. Trimble transferred clean because he entered the April portal window. Mitchell is eligible but locked out.
California. Ines Bettencourt (ex-UConn/Gonzaga) and 45+ plaintiffs including Donovan Dent seeking a fifth year. No ruling yet.
Tennessee (Patterson). Chief Judge Campbell stayed the PI motions Aug 10 pending the Wisne appeal. Another court deferring to Colorado and Denver.
MDL. NCAA filed Aug 3 to consolidate Wisne, Pavia, Patterson, and five other cases in the Middle District of Tennessee. Responses due Aug 26.
Colorado. Enforcement motion fully briefed after plaintiffs' reply Aug 10. Sweeney has not ruled. That motion asks her to add practical protections including transfer access and the Rule of Restitution.
Reportedly, a Pavia order requires an Aug 21 explanation of how the 2026 bylaws and Wisne interact. Unconfirmed on the docket.
What the injunction covers. The fifth season. It does not cover House roster limits, revenue-share caps, transfer rules, portal access, or age-based limits. No NCAA blanket waiver exists.
Friday watch. Plaintiffs file their Tenth Circuit opposition at 3 p.m. MT. Kentucky hearing at 11 a.m. ET. Monday the NCAA replies at 10 a.m. MT. After Monday is the highest-probability window for the Tenth Circuit to act on the stay. Sweeney's enforcement order could drop anytime.

My rule for parents when I coach
Don’t call or text me after losses and tell me what I did wrong unless you call me after every win and tell me how great I am.
Been using that line for over 20 something years in my parent meetings.
I also explain all the steps that have to be taken before a meeting even remotely gets close to an administration level.

A Black woman was dining at Sirenitas Restaurant Mexican & Central American Food when two staff members called her "Myyate grande"…which means large N word in Spanish.
The staff reportedly laughed, assuming she wouldn't understand the slur. She handled it with composure instead of reacting in anger—left briefly to breathe and regroup, then returned to calmly demand an apology. One woman feigned ignorance, but the situation escalated when TikTok was mentioned, leaving the younger dark-haired staffer visibly "cooked" and aware of potential viral fallout.
Backstory…
This lady called me "Myyate grande" which means large N*gger in Spanish. My fathers first language is Spanish and taught me do not ever let somebody call me this word.! was looking at a menu and they laughed in my face because they thought I did not know what they were saying. I left the restaurant quietly, took a moment to breathe and went back and quietly asked for an apology. She proceeded to act like she did not know what I was talking about. The dark haired, younger girl knew she was cooked when I mentioned TikTok.
