One month to go! My latest update now posted…

IPS is driving away families with their middle school policies. My latest update from the campaign trail…. redelmanforips.org/updates/e…
Fair question. And where is the board in all of this? My thoughts: facebook.com/share/v/14rmWNV…
Interesting that IPS noted in its most recent financial audit that an impact of HEA 1423 is participation in "unified enrollment" to "establish a single system where families can apply to to schools in the city, including IPS and charter schools."
What changed?

There are new updates to the website!! And more ways to engage…. redelmanforips.org
My friends at @IndianaStand have created a nifty & simple way to show your support. I’d love to hear from a few of you!
If you're supporting Derek, please take a moment to record a short video sharing why you're voting for him. 🎥 Share your video here: vocalvideo.com/c/Redelman
IPS spends AT LEAST $22k per student, which is far more than is cited in public polling. Indeed, even among teachers, the most commonly cited amount is only $5k per student. This system needs MUCH more transparency!

So the teachers’ union opposes a $95M per year IPS referendum because it’s not big enough and charter students will benefit. Apparently IEA would rather IPS become insolvent and their union dissolve than see charter students receive fair funding.
Wild.

Enjoyed visiting @KIPPIndy today! I worked with their national founder @kippbigdog when we were passing Indiana’s charter law - so it was a long overdue visit. It’s now an IPS network school - and really THE neighborhood school for Martindale Brightwood.
AT LEAST $22,000 per student in IPS. The referendum is likely necessary to prevent chaos next year; but voters and taxpayers deserve to know this - as do teachers and parents!

Regardless of your view on this referendum, it’s remarkable to see the Indianapolis district and charter communities coming together to support something that will benefit students in public schools of all types.
This just doesn’t happen anywhere else in the country.
I am quite honored by this endorsement and look forward working with @IndianaStand to address important issues for Indy students!
I supported the formation of IPEC and have said it offers a great OPPORTUNITY, but also much to work to be watched carefully. These early steps, the hiring of @KaregaRausch and @andrew_strope, are an encouraging start to that work!
