I'm tired of perpetual victimhood. If nobody can show a factual basis to believe Converse intended some covert klan reference in their ad, the fact people can imagine up an interpretation does not make the ad racist. Racism is in intent, not interpretation.

I've seen 3 types mad at Sydney Sweeney: 1) Thinking the nudity is generally inappropriate. 2) Ugly middle-age "journalists". 3) Female athletes criticizing sexualization of their sports (it wasn't) as they share media of them doing sport or butt pose in skin-tight clothes.

A growing pet peeve of mine is people using women to refer to a singular woman. Maybe they're implying multiple personalities, though...

I'm wondering how many OF "creators" with hundreds of IG/TikTok vids of their ass/crotch while they lift 10 lbs are jumping on the "Sydney Sweeney, THIS is what a female athlete looks like" wagon for extra publicity to try to get people to pay to see more than Sweeney showed.

The exact same number of people were hurt in this gif as in the Sark/Rowe AI video some people are up in arms about. Nobody's trying to make you laugh, maybe just back TF off people that do and save your outrage for reality. Plenty of stuff there to be mad about.

“But what if he’s the only juror who doesn’t feel bad for Lindsay Clancy, can the white lady jurors say it then?”
Gayle King looks stunned that the only juror who didn't agree in the Lindsay Clancy trial was a Black man. “Woah. I have to sit with that for a second.” She can't hide her bias.

Current GOP ideas I'm aware of: 1) cap student loan interest at 2% (Luna) 2) subsidize stay-at-home moms (Trump) 3) pay $5k to everyone (Trump) So they didn't codify shit from DOGE, and now want to increase welfare, basically. And they'll be shocked to lack voter enthusiasm.

I think one of the ecommerce trends I may hate the most is companies emailing you within minutes of you looking at a product on their site, pushing the sale. A reminder you were looking can be good at times, but I didn't forget about it in 5 minutes, I just chose not to purchase.

Burchett wants a *ban* on ALPRs, not just a warrant requirement. That would make Tennessee safer for people like the child rapist a Flock camera helped catch last week. That’s not very pro-public safety, congressman. flockstopscrime.com
If you want to follow my ass get a DADGUM warrant. You got caught now you want to fix it. # 4thAmendment

It's already happening with some, but I fully expect many of the "inclusive WNBA" people to declare that Kanter and Royce aren't "real" trans women, even though their own rules say you just have to say you are and everyone else should play along.

No, because they're still profiling and tracking you even if you don't commit any crimes. The problem is the data collection on innocent people, not that it can report crime. It's a private company collecting data on you. They don't even need to wait for a warrant.

It's hard to admit something you've made part of your personality and belief system is wrong. One doesn't have to agree with Charlie Kirk's conclusions/opinions to simply be human enough not to hate him, or misrepresent him so others can more easily hate him.

My favorite new Twitter genre is “I’m a loser who has failed at life but you should totally listen to my ideas about how to upend and fundamentally transform our entire capitalist economic system”

USA. A breakfast counter. The waitress recommended the biscuits and gravy, and when the plate arrived, I thought something had gone wrong in the kitchen. I say this with shame. The dish looked like a construction site after rain. Pale mounds. Gray ladle-fall. Speckles I could not identify. In my land, the eye eats first. A meal is arranged like a garden. This meal was arranged like weather. "Is it… finished?" I asked, carefully. "Honey, that's what it looks like." The man beside me was already eating his. He did not look up. "Just try it." I am a man who has charged hillsides at dawn. I raised the fork. I tried it. I must now formally apologize to the biscuits, the gravy, the waitress, the kitchen, and the entire breakfast tradition of the American South. It was magnificent. Warm. Peppered. The biscuit drank the gravy the way a field drinks rain — THAT is why it is shaped like that, you fool — and every mound I had insulted was a soft fold of comfort that my homeland, in eight hundred years, never once thought to invent. "Well?" the waitress asked. "I judged it," I confessed. "By its appearance. I am ashamed." "Everybody does, hon." Everybody does. A national dish that forgives you for doubting it. It expects the doubt. It waits for you on the other side of it. Do not judge the gravy by its face. Judge yourself, for hesitating. I order it every Saturday now. I no longer see the construction site. I see only the garden. It was a garden the whole time. The eye must be trained.

USA. A diner. The waitress asked me how I want my eggs, and my mind went completely blank. "How do you want your eggs, hon?" Want. How do I WANT them. No one has ever asked me this. In my land, the egg arrives as the cook decrees, and you thank the egg, the cook, and your ancestors, in that order. "Scrambled? Over easy? Sunny side up?" she offered, gently, the way one talks a man down from a roof. The terms did not help. Over easy — over WHAT, easily? Easy for whom? Sunny side up — these people have named an egg after the dawn. Who does that. I needed time. I have chosen battlefields faster than I chose those eggs. She refilled my coffee and said she'd come back. It was the second refill. I had been deciding for nine minutes. The man on the next stool leaned over. "Just say over easy, man. You can't go wrong." "And if I CAN go wrong?" "...it's eggs, buddy." It's eggs. Eight hundred years of my family training itself to want nothing, and this man dismissed all of it with a fork in his hand. He was right. I will never tell him. "Sunny side up," I declared, with the weight of a man choosing a path for life. "I will face the sun." "You got it, hon." The eggs came. Two small suns on a white plate, looking up at me. Golden. Ridiculous. Exactly what I wanted. So THAT is what wanting feels like. I had to cross an ocean and hold up a breakfast line to learn it. The man on the next stool got his check and left. "Good choice," he said. I have never been more proud of anything. A man does not ask the eggs to be simple. He only becomes a man who knows what he wants. Tomorrow: over easy. I am almost ready.
