We don't appreciate how many men and women died so we could have the Holy Scriptures in our own tongue. May we never take that for granted.
Thomas Cranmer is one of the most fascinating figures of the English Reformation. As Archbishop of Canterbury, he played a massive role in bringing the Reformation to England.
His Book of Common Prayer helped transform English worship and would influence generations of Christians. But what makes Cranmer's story so powerful isn't just what he accomplished.
It's how his life ended. When Queen Mary began persecuting Protestants, Cranmer was imprisoned and eventually recanted his Protestant convictions out of fear of death.
But God wasn't finished with him. On the day of his execution in 1556, Cranmer publicly rejected his recantations and reaffirmed the truths he had once defended. And when the flames were lit, he famously thrust his right hand into the fire first.
The very hand that had signed his recantations.
I love Cranmer's story because it reminds us that the Reformers weren't perfect men.
They were sinners who desperately needed the same grace they preached.
That feeling knowing you're a slave to Christ, not Rome. Happy Reformation Day! (I just had to post it again 😁)
Asking for a favor to my followers. Do you live around Boise, Idaho or know someone that does? A number of Christians from several evengelical Church's are planning to meet at the Capital steps on Monday to repent for the abortions that are still legally happening (over 2,500 in the last year).
It's time that abortion is abolished, not just in this state, but across the country.

A year ago I released this on YouTube. I had no idea idea it'd get over 100k views and such a positive reaction. The AI video is already outdated, but the song still resonates with people because Martin Luther's story of standing on the truth of Scripture is so powerful.

I’ve been clear about what I meant.
I didn’t say Joel WAS a false teacher and I don’t condemn him to hell.
I do believe much of his teaching is dangerous and I “warn” people about it “with the same ENERGY” I do in opposing false teachers.
That’s the clear meaning of my words.

Have you noticed that almost every cult or false church rejects Sola Scriptura? The Papists in Rome, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Muslims, and many others all reject it.
The first words out of Satan's mouth were, "Has God indeed said...?"
His tactic throughout history has been to get people or institutions either to gatekeep God's Word (i.e., insist that you need an infallible interpreter) or to cause people to question it altogether (i.e., claim that it's corrupted and can't be trusted).
Sola Scriptura (that Scripture is the sole infallible rule of faith) is a theological hill worth dying on.
I grew up going to Reformation Day parties where occult or heretical books would be thrown into firepits. I didn't realize how controversial this was till adulthood.
