The People’s Coalition on Electoral Reforms has declared a state of absolute national electoral integrity vigilance for the next 288 days, since the country is sleepwalking to a catastrophic rigging of the August 2027 General Election.
Former Chief Justice David Maraga accused the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of acting as an unaccountable rogue procurement cartel and Parliament of betraying the public trust bestowed upon them by the People of Kenya due to narrow executive subservience for the benefit of President William Ruto.

Following last Thursday’s parliamentary decision to reject proposed amendments to Section 39 of the Elections Act, the People’s Coalition on Electoral Reforms- @Reforms_Ke led by @dkmaraga today called for urgent legislative action to safeguard the 2027 General Election.
Kenya cannot afford a repeat of the 2007/08 post-election violence. We need transparent elections, verifiable results and public confidence that every vote counts.
The coalition will introduce an amendment Bill in both the National Assembly and the Senate to strengthen electoral safeguards.
We must act now to protect the vote and safeguard our peace.

3. CoA also struck down Regulation 83(2) & Regulation 87(2)(c) of the Elections (General) Regulations, 2012 for making polling station & constituency results subject to IEBC confirmation or designating them as provisional. This informs our rejection of a National Tallying Centre.

2. In Maina Kiai case Section 39(2) & Section 39(3) were invalidated as they treated polling station & constituency presidential results as provisional & subject to alteration/confirmation by IEBC. Court ruled those results are final & unalterable by the IEBC at a national level.

1. I will answer on behalf of the Maraga-Led People's Coalition on Electoral Reforms @Reforms_Ke. Court of Appeal has in 2 seperate cases in 2017 & 2018 (Maina Kiai v IEBC & Katiba Institute v NA) held various Sub-Sections of S.39 UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Most were amendments in 2017.
