We’re watching highly qualified researchers and engineers leave because Canada can’t give them a realistic path to stay, while the system creates bizarre incentives around other immigration categories (refugees and french people, yea) Half the top researchers I knew at McGill left because there was no viable permanent pathway. The other half moved to the US. We literally educate world-class talent, fail to retain them, and then act surprised when they leave. good luck. truly lol.
