I love this website whenever it's time to say "something popular didn't click with you." I remember saying I thought Stellar Blade was mid and I apparently was a Westaboo who hated all Korean women and I was deemed as a traitor to men.
I love women, so it doesn't make sense lmao! People will come up with 300 different justifications when a game merely didn't click or you stand against something.
One of my favorite scenes in Requiem. You can feel the horror for Leon come all rushing back to him.
I've come across three splintered Silent Hill communities created by people who were tired of the main subreddit: r/SilentChill, r/SilentHillf, and r/SilentHillRevival.
While this isn't anything new, considering the Resident Evil community has experienced similar fragmentation, it's still worth taking note of. When people feel compelled to create alternative communities, it raises questions about what went wrong. Was it unfair moderation, overly restrictive rules that made little sense, shadowbanning, posts or comments being silently removed, or simply a general dissatisfaction with how the main subreddit was being run?
In this case, it seems to be a combination of those issues, compounded by a manbaby mod. Thankfully, there are people willing to put in the effort to cultivate better communities rather than simply accepting the status quo.
That effort is commendable. If the main subreddit has become an unpleasant place to participate, creating an alternative where people can engage more freely and enjoy the franchise without unnecessary nonsense is a noble undertaking.

Okay, let's humble him. If it was a second playthrough then skip away. That's fair enough. However, if this was your first playthrough and you thought this was your goty and then skipped cutscenes...it clearly was an aspect you didn't find engaging on the first go. Amirite?
Imo a personal game of the year should fire on all cylinders to someone. Yes, that also includes the story.
And I know someone will say well a game with a non story based aspect can be a goty. Yes, I am aware of that. But Alan Wake 2 is story based and has multiple things under the hood. All cylinders should be counted if a game decides to include a story. My perspective is if it is there and if it's your game of the year then I assume you liked everything that it mostly offered regardless?

I like Birdman, but the problem with this logic though was the reviews for Resident Evil 6 did bother Capcom. Therefore, it really doesn't seem to matter how much Resident Evil 6 sold. They deemed it as eye catching enough to stop the action games for mainline at the time and go right back to roots.
Sometimes (in rare moments) you can sell a lot of units and still admit to a mistake. And they put all their guns on RE6. Also if Capcom mismanaged and put big Resident Evil games on failing consoles....that's still their fault for doing so.
Also I fuck with Ant this isn't attacking him. Just an observation on my end. I think a lot of poor decisions and Capcom observing the tide of gaming did make them buckle for these drastic changes. Whether you like the concept or not....they did buckle. Idk if saving the series is the right word. But pushing it into a new sense of popularity from the previous entries ...yes, those games accomplished that.
Oh yea....and one final, final clarification here. I did find this article. They said RE6 sold below expectations and DmC which eventually led them to the first restructure (aka making more things in house with quality control)
