Tokenized RWAs are emerging as the biggest opportunity for crypto hedge funds. 46% of funds already trading crypto picked tokenized real-world assets, ahead of crypto derivatives (23%) and stablecoin yield (15%). Around 4 in 10 are already trading or exploring tokenized RWAs. RWAs are moving higher up the priority list for institutional crypto. 🫡 @RWAFoundation_

This is a good distinction from the @SPGlobalRatings team. It can be simply put as transaction transparency vs risk transparency. You can see every transaction a vault makes and still have no idea how it'll hold up when markets get rough. That comes down to the curator's controls and governance. For funds already in a vault, the job doesn't stop at due diligence. Curators move capital around, so your exposure keeps changing. Renesis tracks that for every vault position you hold, over time.
⚡️ INSIGHT: Seeing a DeFi vault’s transactions doesn’t reveal how it may behave under stress. James Wiemken of @SPGlobalRatings explains why assessing governance and controls is key to moving from transaction transparency to risk transparency.

Something crypto managers should know about how allocators work. They sort funds into buckets by asset class first and only then look at strategy. So two systematic funds with similar risk controls can end up compared against different peers just because one trades crypto. It's worth asking an allocator which bucket you'd land in before the pitch.

Some of the biggest stablecoin borrowers on @aave and @Morpho are looping at over 8x leverage. Across two years of data, none of the positions studied got liquidated. If your fund loops stablecoins, here's what these whales are doing right now 🧵

6/ If your fund runs or evaluates a loop, these are worth checking: a) Carry spread after borrowing costs b) How much leverage is applied c) Buffer before liquidation d) Liquidation penalty e) Oracle design f) Exit options g) Who else sits at the same liquidation level

7/ For funds that loop, those numbers move all the time. Renesis tracks your fund's Aave and Morpho positions alongside the rest of the book ,with PnL broken down at the protocol level. Research by @krzysgogol and @stablewatchHQ 🫡 nitter.cf/stablewatchHQ/status/2…

There are now 856 managed DeFi vaults, run by 131 curators across 18 protocols with $11.3B in assets. For a fund managing positions across vaults, that means tracking different strategies, curators and share prices. Renesis tracks every vault position by its live share price, all in one view. 🤝

Onchain credit now has several layers behind the asset: 1. Asset manager 2. Curator 3. Lending protocol 4. Issuer Each layer adds costs, risks or both. We break down your fund's returns by protocol and position, so you can see where the yield really comes from.

If you could fix one thing about how you track your crypto, what would it be?

What do allocators really look for in a crypto fund beyond the returns? Plenty of funds with good numbers still got stuck in due diligence last year. These are the things that came up again and again. Save this one for your next DDQ. 🧵

4/ Other questions coming up in almost every process: i) How do you track leverage and when do you get liquidated? ( A big one since the October 2025 crash. ) ii) Why do your reports arrive late? iii) What controls sit around self-custody?

5/ Diligence doesn't stop after the money comes in. Allocators flagged funds that added leverage, new DeFi positions or listed securities without telling the LPs. Each change brings new risks and new reporting. A short note to LPs explaining why goes a long way. The takeaway from all this is that preparation and communication are what stand out to investors most.
