TW: rape & sexual assault The same kind of abuse culture & misogynistic culture that allows for abusers to cause harm inside their homes is the same abuse that informs Texas’ anti-abortion law. It’s the same abuse we see that has persisted for centuries. And it’s time to end it.

THEY ARE laughing at you
No one cares that you don’t have time to kill your baby...that’s the point
Thank you for calling out the legislators of my home state... I am a native Texan and there are many reasons for me to be proud of Texas, but they DO NOT speak for Texans. Two-thirds of Texans oppose these laws. They are not TEXAS... TEXAS is better than its representatives

Why are we arguing whether poor females can legally control their bodies in 2021? (Wealthy females will ALWAYS have access to safe abortion.)

It's a faith based decision that should be up to woman, her family, her doctor, and her faith. This nation was created to escape religious persecution and here we are making it law. Unbelievable.

Excellent. The Texas law is an abomination. Not only is it horrifying for women, but it opens a door to a model of governance that none of us in this country would recognize. jcawley-37424.medium.com/the…

An abusive bf sabotaged the birth control. Suddenly brings me a preg. test saying I was late. It was positive and I was stunned. He said "we are a family now" and wanted to move in w/me and my small children. That's how I became prochoice!

Funny how Texas is all “abortion is now illegal” are the same people who are crying “my body, my choice” about the vaccine.

If a woman has sex with 100 random men in a year, she can still only produce one full term pregnancy. If a guy has sex with 100 random women in a year, he can produce 100 full term pregnancies. So why exactly are we talking about only regulating women?

Thank you for this. Never had a regular period in my life. I was overweight and couldn’t regulate hormones or extremely fit and didn’t have a period at all. Denied a hysterectomy 6 times. I didn’t know til I was vomiting at 9 weeks but had also taken PlanB to prevent pregnancy.

AOC, never stop fighting for us!!! Your voice is so powerful and you make such a difference!!! Thank you for all your work - you speak the truth!

And all of this is completely irrelevant if we simply allow women the same right to autonomy as men. If women had that same right to reproductive choice, none of these circumstances or issues would be up for discussion.

As a mother of two daughters and aunt to two survivors I appreciate you. Thank you for fighting for them and me. We appreciate you.

Refreshing to see someone with so much integrety and conviction working in politics. This is should be the norm instead of the exception. Keep fighting the good fight @RepAOC

I hate to be cliché, but THIS! This is exactly one of the huge parts of why this 'law' is ludicrous and should never have been taken seriously, let alone enforced! I'm livid over this and I don't even live in Texas! Thank you for your excellent work here! 👏🏼💜

You are the best. I had an illegal abortion my senior year of high school when my then boyfriend told me to”get rid of it.” The abortion was performed by a doctor in a motel room. I would never want a woman to go through that nightmare.

Has no one heard of girls getting drugged and raped? They are clueless or repressing what happened to them. I would say 10 weeks isn’t enough. Also why 10? What is the scientific reasoning?

Show me one place in the words of the Constitution that this country was founded on white supremacy.

I was stressed out with my job once I was a week late for my period. A stressful toxic relationship made me late for my period constantly.

Thank you for your brilliant take-down of Skop. I needed abortion care when I was 15 and it was traumatic enough without this invasive treacherous interference. What are they up to while they distract us with this cocktail of hate? Motives GOP?

Right I swear I tell all my home girls this shit. Don't let slick remarks by men you know slide, sometimes it's innocent but all too often they are creating an environment where they can assault you later and have everyone including yourself question the validity of ur claim.

A reply to all Rep AOC Unless she's able to introduce a bill on the house Making it federal law There's nothing she could do about Texas law She's unwilling to put her own reputation and challenge the law in the Texas courts

I want my granddaughter to be like AOC. Carter Rose tells me “grandpa I don’t wear a mask to protect me, I wear a mask to protect others.” Thank you for NOT taking PAC money!! #NOTHINGwithoutBBB!!!

An absolute master class in speaking truth to power. I cannot believe what I am witnessing down there and I am very glad I don't have to live in a place that promotes such backward, misogynistic lies about women.

My thing to all the Republicans in here who are supporting this insanity of a abortion bill. All I want to say is okay if we want a heart beat to be the mark of life and abortion that’s okay. However, I therefore want every MD who did a live transplant to be arrested for murder.
