At the Indian Affairs Committee meeting today in Pojoaque. Presentations from PED and the Aging Dept., plus HM17, about the memorial I co-sponsored against casting scams and for better on-set complaint tracking. I've traveled across the state year-round for four years to represent Alamogordo. And won't stop!
Some of my comments from today’s Courts, Corrections & Justice Committee: The chair invited out-of-state college professors to talk about skirting the Constitution to defend anti-gun bills in the courts. Stefani Lord and I fought back. An AR-15 isn’t a musket; a multi-day stagecoach ride in the 1800s ≠ a 7-day waiting period. The 2A is crystal clear: SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
Today at the Courts, Corrections & Justice Committee, Democrats previewed skirting the Constitution for anti-gun laws. Leftist SMU & Duke profs + Everytown pushed to restrict our 2A. @Lord4NM and I—the only Republicans there—fought hard for your rights against this agenda.
🚨Today in Courts, Corrections, & Justice Committee: Dems will preview how they aim to skirt laws + precedent to snatch our gun rights. Featuring a presenter who claims “toxic masculinity” creates “gun violence.” 🙄 Links in comments.
Happy National First Responders Day. Thank you to the Otero County Sheriff’s Office, Alamogordo Police Department, New Mexico State Police, Alamogordo Fire Department, county firefighters, 911 dispatchers, and everyone who responds when our community needs help. You keep Alamogordo safe. We are grateful.
As your legislator, I show up for Alamogordo. Today I’m at the NM Finance Authority Oversight Committee, which oversees major funds that invest back in our district. In my four years, tens of millions in loans and grants have reached Alamogordo because we changed the rules so rural communities get a fair share—not just Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces, and Rio Rancho.
