Shoutout to the communities across SC that kept the pressure up and pushed for change despite the resistance they faced.
While this is not a full repeal, this is a HUGE step towards progress in our state.

It is unacceptable that the Republican-led South Carolina legislature is refusing to allow USC, Clemson, and Winthrop University to rename their buildings that honor racists.
Can The State help raise hell about this? Like, really raise hell?
The @UofSC community is #ReadyToRename buildings on campus that honor Confederates and segregationists.
It is now up to @HarrisPastides + USC admin to give the Commission’s report to the Board of Trustees to make the official commitment.

While VA + other states continue to reckon with Confederate statues on their public grounds, South Carolina drags its feet.
