His question was answered with a question, and gave him no definite answer to his inquiry initially.
The situation could be viewed as something quite perplexing, or it could be viewed as something more of a cruel joke played by fate.
Whatever the reason was, it continued--
to elude them both despite the subtle hints Kaelen made toward them being twins.
That wasn't ruled out, not yet at least.
"So," he said, "You bear no mark, nor claim to have ever had one.
Fair enough.
So tell me, are you a mage? And if so, what Guild are you apart of."

Never at any moment could he have ever predicated what Kaelen would say next.
Both eyes widened ay the implication, and his mouth gaped open.
"T-Twin?"
Just saying it aloud sounded unreal.
Flashes of his past ran rampant throughout his mind, falling back on his mother--
would make sense as to why they were a one to one match, but the lack of a facial tattoo spoke loudly.
"So if you could explain as to why you don't have it, I'd care to know."

She definitely is amazed with the amount of eagerness coming from her captive. Maybe Erza might take that anticipation as a request to keep him wrapped for a little longer instead?

He’s ready to unravel this mummy, @yoseikanso.
Or try to, he’s kind of willingly restrained.

Now having ruled out both Edolas and Elentear, our Heavenly Mage was quite perplexed. The simplest scenario would have been a breach from another world; if you consider that simple.
More questions than answers plagued them, and he started to doubt if they could solve this--
mystery without a much deeper dive into each other's past; yet, disclosing such vital information wasn't exactly his forte.
After all, even his current name is a fabrication due to the trauma from his own past.
"Actually yes," he quipped back with.
"Mystogan."
Jellal had--
