I’ve been thinking about this for quite a while, trying to find the right words.
As a woman and a marketer, in an often male dominated industry, it’s upsetting.
It’s upsetting to think about the number of people who had to sign off on this ad and it still went forward.
It’s upsetting to think that if there were a woman in a leadership role, who had the opportunity to speak up, she either didn’t say anything or if she did, she was called “woke” or “too sensitive”.
It’s upsetting to think that we live in a world where violence is funny and misogyny sells.
There are so many other ways that the point could have been made and this is the route they chose.
I can tell you one thing… my girls would never. If you’ve seen my Allison run her bar, you’d agree. At all of 5’2” and 20 years old, she takes no shit from anyone and her sister is the same.
The best way to use this ad will be as a tool to teach our young people (boys and girls) to do better than this when they’re put in a position to choose right from grossly wrong.

I’ve never pastored a church. Couldn’t pay me a jillion dollars to. Never been ordained. Have no desire to. The only paid staff position I’ve ever held in a church was as an aerobics teacher in our church gym. But how in heaven’s name a woman discussing a sermon on a podcast could be objectionable to some is beyond me and what I believe to be beyond scripture. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, good. Stay sane. If you do, I’ve lived a long time and this has been my observation:

the owner of OnlyFans just died at 43.. Leonid Radvinsky.. the man made $3 billion off a platform where other people sell themselves..
he took 20% of every transaction.. every video.. every message.. every tip.. while creators fought algorithms and chargebacks and deplatforming threats just to make rent.. he sat at the top collecting a cut of their bodies.. and everyone called him a "tech founder"..
the man wasn't a tech founder.. he was the most successful middleman in history..
and the wildest part.. OnlyFans was profitable from day one.. no VC money.. no IPO.. because when your business model is taking a fifth of what someone earns from their own skin.. you don't need investors.. you need creators desperate enough to not ask questions..
he had $3 billion and still couldn't beat cancer at 43.. what exactly are we all racing toward.
Not much gets me to switch brands faster than a horrible customer service team, and I say this as someone who has a kitchen full of terribly shoddy and frequently repaired @GE_Appliances
