VICTORY: @GovKathyHochul just signed the #RetailWorkerSafety Act into law! This first-of-its-kind bill requires corporate retail employers to adopt a violence prevention plan, train workers in de-escalation and active shooters, and large employers must install panic buttons.

Only half of New Yorkers earn a living wage.
Hochul's minimum wage deal for $17/hr by 2026, while leaving upstate behind, is not a pathway to affordability.
The first real step is $17/hr statewide & guaranteed cost of living raises. #RaiseUpNY

We’re in Albany fighting to protect the minimum wage!
NY used to be a minimum wage leader. But the minimum wage increase—$17 downstate and $16 upstate by 2026—leaves millions of workers behind.
Workers upstate deserve a real raise, and last year’s deal doesn’t cut it #RaiseUpNY

🚨Emergency action!
@GovKathyHochul is proposing a minimum wage increase to $17 that will lock in poverty wages. This is NOT enough.
Call Governor Hochul 518-474-8390 and tell her $17 is NOT enough. She must do better in the final budget!
Retail Action Project retweeted
$17 is not enough. Workers need a $21.25 minimum wage to survive our historic cost of living crisis. Anything less won’t cut it. #RaiseUpNY

Raising and indexing the minimum wage would stimulate the economy, creating more tax dollars to pay for health care, education, transportation, sanitation, etc. All 20 million New Yorkers would benefit. news10.com/news/budget-negot…

All eyes are on Albany as NY's budget negotiations continue past the deadline.
Raising the #MinimumWage is popular. It's good for business. It's good for families. It's good for the economy.
@GovKathyHochul, do right by NYers: #RaiseTheWage to $21.25. ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/ins…

I have constituents who live in shelters, despite working multiple minimum wage jobs for the wealthiest corporations.
$44,000 a year is not a radical wage in New York State. It’s sound economics to lift from the bottom and #RaiseTheWage.

Size discrimination keeps people out of jobs that they’re perfectly capable of performing. It stops people from accessing public services paid for with their hard-earned tax dollars.
And we’re going to ban it.

To restore the value of the minimum wage, we need to catch it up to $21.25 before indexing.
