On this day, 473 years ago, Michael Servetus was burned at the stake in Geneva, Switzerland following his condemnation for heresy. A reminder that religious authority is no substitute for biblical truth and that freedom of conscience must never depend upon theological agreement.

I’m super serious about the Messiah “who has been tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin.”

Ok, we get it. You're super serious about worshipping a creation.

He is the Christ, the Son of the living God, begotten by the power of the Most High and born of a woman in time. He is truly human, possessing a rational soul and human flesh; the last Adam, the one mediator between God and mankind. He is not the God who sent him, but the man whom God anointed, empowered, raised from the dead, and exalted to His right hand. He is subordinate to the Father, not merely according to his humanity but because the Father alone is the only true God. Although he has been granted all authority in heaven and on earth, he remains subject to the One who granted it. For there is one God, the Father, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, whom God has made both Lord and Christ. (Luke 1:35; John 17:3; Acts 2:36; 1 Cor. 8:6; 15:27–28; 1 Tim. 2:5)

So “God Logic” asks questions, people answer the questions and then he changes the subject? Do people actually think this is apologetics?
Absolutely amazing.

I understand a Unitarian named Mike debated a guy called “God Logic” and Mike was upset about the dishonesty afterwards. “God Logic” seems not to possess integrity or logic. Such bad argumentation from the Trinitarian here as “God Logic” uses a translation issue, that is noted by the JW, to get eternal generation and a shared divine essence. The trinitarian proves unable to explain how Jesus can be “granted” anything if he is God and tries to explain that “granting” and “inheriting” are the same thing. Incredible. So now “God Logic” has lost to @Metaphysicmike and a random JW. If you have 25mins to waste, watch this youtu.be/pM-DnQr8G3w?si=Yjby…

“And you will hear wars nearby and reports of wars far away. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must come to pass, but it is not yet the end.” - Matthew 24:6
All week we've been talking about these warnings to prepare, and now suspected North Korean hackers just pulled off a $6.3 billion heist on Binance. Meanwhile, China, Russia, and Europe are all teetering on the edge of total collapse. And right now our nation is debating on whether to vote for radical Marxists and Islamists while the Left plans our destruction. Look at what the Left has openly admitted in the past month. They're pushing for street chaos no matter the results of the midterms, setting up doomsday scenarios to enforce the Insurrection Act, and some are openly cheer for Hamas. You think they’re going to stand up to a regime like Iran that wants to drown the world in blood? They'll just open the door and give them a lifeline. Chaos is spreading. The writing is on the wall. And we are not immune. I’m not trying to scare you. But if we don't wake up and start paying attention right now, things are about to become very real.

And God doesn’t demonstrate that he is love because he loves his tri-personal self. @RFupdates
No one in the Bible worshipped a tri-personal God.

The reality is, it was personal for Calvin and Servetus. Calvin said if Servetus came to Geneva, that he would do all he could to make sure Servetus wouldn’t leave alive. Calvin proved true to his word. Servetus, burned in effigy by the Catholics and literally burned to death by the Protestants. Calvin was not just a man of his time, he was a “theocrat” imagining that he was doing the will of God. “Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think that he offers a service to God.” - John 16:2

On October 23, 1553, the Geneva Council, in the case against Michael Servetus, reviewed the responses of four Swiss Protestant cities. The ministers of Zürich urged Geneva to prevent the teachings of Servetus from spreading and argued that the Swiss churches needed to demonstrate that they did not tolerate heresy. One account has them saying “Holy Providence at this time affords you an opportunity of freeing yourselves and us from that injurious suspicion.” Why? Michael Servetus rejected the Trinity doctrine.

Calvin describes the capture of Servetus to his friend Farel “He intended perhaps passing through this city; But after he had been recognised, I thought that he should be detained. My friend Nicolas summoned him on a capital charge, offering himself as security…”

I’m confident Thomas Jefferson would say about Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and the Mormons in general “I believe, we are told in the old Book that ‘every man that is mad, & maketh himself a prophet, thou shouldest put him in prison & in the stocks.’”

Yes. You can articulate Christianity without appealing to philosophical categories of being, essence or substance. R. C. Sproul, however, could not explain the Trinity without them.
