Police in Greensburg, IN are investigating a shooting at a park last night. The Chief confirms both the suspect and victim are juveniles. The suspect is in custody and the victim is stable. More details on what happened set to be released this afternoon.

When officers arrived, they found a 26-year-old male with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound in the leg. The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition and was treated for his injuries. Thanks to the hard work of IMPD Aggravated Assault detectives and the IMPD Violent Crime Units (VCU) detectives and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team arrested a 28-year-old male on September 14, 2026, in the 1000 block of Alington Avenue. He was preliminarily charged with Aggravated Battery in connection to the shooting. IP260066464 Later the same day, VCU continued their hard work to make two more Aggravated Assault arrests. On June 20, 2026, IMPD North District officers were called to the 8800 block of Emerson Avenue on a report of a person assaulted. When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from injuries to his head. The victim was transported to the hospital by a family member to be treated for his injuries. On September 14, 2026, VCU detectives, IMPD Southeast District Violent Crime Task Force (VCTF) detectives, and IMPD K9 officers arrested a 51-year-old male and a 21-year-old man for their alleged connection to the assault. One of the men also had an additional felony warrant that he was arrested for as well. IP260048588 The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decision. The suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

A Honduran national is back in the U.S. for an Indianapolis murder from December 2024. IMPD tells us Zacarias Antunez-Padilla was extradited from Honduras on a murder warrant with the help of U.S. Marshals. He was booked into jail in Indianapolis Thursday. Court documents say witness statements, security video and the gun evidence link him to the murder. The shooting happened Dec. 30, 2024 at an apartment complex on the southeast side, near Rural Street and Hana Avenue. Police found 30-year-old Dilmer Gabriel Juarez-Murillo dead with a gunshot and multiple stab wounds to the neck. Newly unsealed court documents reveal witnesses reported that Juarez-Murillo and Antunez-Padilla had been drinking with friends. The two men reportedly stepped outside to talk when gunshots went off. Police learned Antunez-Padilla fled the scene in a Toyota after the shooting. Officers allegedly found the same Toyota — registered to Antunez-Padilla — abandoned in a nearby apartment complex shortly after. IMPD detectives quickly learned from federal authorities that Antunez-Padilla fled to Honduras on Dec. 31, 2024. Honduran media reports indicate he was taken into custody in December 2025 in the San Antonio de Oriente municipality. It's a pretty remote part of Honduras. He is being held without bond in the Marion County Jail. His initial hearing is scheduled for Sept. 22.
