Sacramento is the largest city in California without a dedicated local funding source for public transit. In fact, SacRT receives only one-fifth of a cent from the local sales tax. As a result, SacRT receives far less than what it actually costs to operate the system. Learn more about what it costs and what's at stake at SacRT.com/NextStop

🎉🚆 Transit adventure complete! 🎉 Congratulations to Girl Scout Troop 3159 on completing the SacRT Transit Patch Challenge and earning their SacRT Transit Patches! 🏅 For their final challenge, the troop researched how to travel from their neighborhood to the Folsom Outlets on SacRT light rail. They worked with their school to get RydeFreeRT cards, found the closest light rail station at Sunrise, and hopped aboard the Gold Line to Iron Point Station for an afternoon of shopping. 🛍️🚆 Along the way, the troop learned how to plan a trip, navigate light rail, and experience firsthand how public transportation can connect them to their community, and they're already talking about where they can go on their next adventure on transit! 💚 👏 Congratulations, Troop 3159! We can't wait to see where transit takes you next! Learn more about the program at sacrt.com/TransitPatch.  #SacRT #GirlScouts #TransitPatch #RideTransit #RydeFreeRT #GoldLine
