Matt Rissman

I had the privilege to meet Peter Cullen along with Frank Welker at a special MEGACON experience in 2024 where I was able to spend a few minutes with the both of them while they recorded special messages for me in the voices of Optimus and Megatron along with taking photos together and a picture signing. It was one of the best experiences of my life, and what I remember most from that encounter was the absolute love these two friends had for each other and how much they loved their characters, surely, but most of all how much they genuinely seemed to care for their fans. Their banter and laughter with each other as they were trying to record our audio messages to me was almost worth more than having the messages themselves, and I wish I could have recorded every second I was there in the room waiting my turn. I’m still not sure if I was allowed to shake their hands, but I went for it, and tried, through stumbling words, to thank them for all they had done for us children of the 80’s and the roles they played in our collective childhoods. Both men were gracious and kind, and most of all humble, and were everything you hoped they would be (and more) in person. The world is a better place for having had Peter Cullen in it, and it is hard to express in words how much his portrayal of Optimus Prime has meant to a generation+ of fans, including myself. I hope we all continue to remember the lessons he taught us over the years. Till all are one.

I liked mikey in Anora BUT Demi should have won for The Substance. Meh
