I've always said "Sustainability marks the halfway point to where we actually need to be." - it's a necessary first step towards a regenerative future. The #circulareconomy approach to resource management supports that claim.

Powerful line from Brothers Karamozov:
“Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself & listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, & so loses all respect for himself & for others."
There's a sweet spot for everything: The Goldilocks Zone. Not enough water and you die from dehydration. Too much, and you drown. The same goes for #carbon. Whats my point? Find balance.
We can aim to embrace carbon as an asset in soil, plants and durable earth-bound forms, while eliminating it as a liability in the atmosphere. We can start by implementing a #CradletoCradle #CircularEconomy for carbon.

Congrats to @VanderbiltU on the award from @USGBC. It's great to see Universities receive the recognition they deserved. Keep the ball rolling!
With 21 LEED certifications, one WELL project, and more in the pipeline, @VanderbiltU’s building portfolio is as broad & impressive as some cities. It is our honor to award Vanderbilt the 2020 USGBC Leadership Award in Building Portfolio Transformation. bit.ly/3plOgZz
Forget 2030, change needs to happen now. Let performance drive our built environment for once, not how pretty it looks.
Forget net zero by 2030: it’s not enough, or soon enough, to stop catastrophic climate change. That’s the message Mahesh Ramanujam, president and CEO of the U.S. Green Building Council, had for attendees of Greenbuild 2020.
