The USDA reported that 13% of corn and 12% of soybeans in the US had been harvested as of Sunday. Both are ahead of the five-year average harvest pace. The good to excellent condition ratings for corn and soybeans were both unchanged.

Export sales of corn were down sharply last week to nearly 1 million metric tons at the same time China booked more than 875,000 MT of soybeans, the USDA reported Thursday. The Export Sales report for the week ending September 10 was within the wide ranges of projections and also included increases in meat sales and dwindling demand for soybean meal.

The USDA reported that 5% of US corn had been harvested as of Sunday. Most of the harvest came from southern states, but Illinois was 3% harvested. The corn good to excellent rating fell one point, while the soybean good to excellent rating was unchanged this week. Spring wheat advanced to 86% harvested.

Wheat sales for 2026-27 bushels fell 22% to 313,500 metric tons during the week ending August 27, the USDA reported Thursday. Corn sales for 2026-27, however, were better than expected at 1,986,400 MT.

China booked more than 1.1 million MT of 2026-27 beans during a busy week ending August 20 followed by unknown destinations with slightly more than 1.0 million MT. Unknown destinations also led the corn market with 438,000 MT with Mexico taking 208,800 MT.
