๐ No Farmers, No Food.
As the Chancellor prepares to deliver todayโs Budget, we urge the Government to do the right thing on the Family Farm Tax.
British farming matters. Family farms are vital to our food security, our rural communities and the future of British food.
Andy Burnham has spoken of โgood growth in every postcodeโ. Every postcode matters โ including those in rural Britain. A good place to start would be removing the Family Farm Tax and giving farming businesses the confidence to produce the food we depend on.
๐ฌ๐ง Protect farming. Protect our food future.

We canโt ban CO2 without tried&tested alternative.
Alternative MUST be found first with gov investment (aka taxpayer ยฃ) if thatโs what theyโre demanding. And must be proven to be higher welfare by science, not extremists.
No alternative means waving in imports still using CO2

School food procurement matters. Better decisions can mean better food on the plate and stronger supply chains for British producers.
@DefraGovUK project to improve school food procurement is a welcome step towards raising standards and putting British food at the heart of school food procurement. ๐ฌ๐ง

Food is never JUST food. ๐ฌ๐ง
Essay Collection: Our relationship with the land has never been purely economic.
In Spirit and the Land, Dr Rupert Sheldrake, biologist and author, explores the connections between farming, spirituality, seasonal traditions and our sense of place.
From ancient sacred landscapes and pilgrimage routes to Plough Sunday and harvest festivals, his essay reflects on how our relationship with the land has changed โ and why reconnecting with its spiritual dimension still matters.
It's a fascinating perspective on the role of food in British society, reminding us that farming is about more than producing food. It's also about the land, the seasons, our communities and our connection to the natural world.

HARVEST FESTIVAL ๐พ๐ฌ๐ง
We are just a few hours away from the National Harvest Service in Nantwich โ a special gathering rooted in the long tradition of Harvest Festival, giving thanks for the food we grow, the people who produce it and the communities who bring us together.
The National Harvest Service began in 2013, when it was inaugurated at Westminster Abbey by Her Majesty The Queen. Since then, it has travelled around the country, bringing together farmers, growers, food producers, churches, rural organisations and communities to celebrate harvest and give thanks for the people and land behind our food.
Today, it returns to Cheshire, as part of our 25th anniversary British Food Fortnight.
