People go back to school to build a better future for themselves and their families. My mom is a great example of that.
The average age of a career college student is 34 years old. Many are parents looking to switch careers, develop new skills and get ahead. They made plans based on the #OSAP funding they were approved for, but Premier Ford’s government abandoned them.
These students need a credible plan from the provincial government so they can continue their studies and improve their lives. Not tomorrow, but right now.

So- personal attacks by the Minister responsible, but no answer to the substance of the issue. Probably because there isn’t one.
I met with the @OntariosDoctors to discuss the challenges facing doctors and medical students across Ontario.
From physician shortages and long wait times to rising operating costs, the government needs to do more to support our healthcare professionals, expand medical training opportunities, and ensure patients can access the care they need.
With a nurse, an ER physician, and a former hospital CEO in our caucus, Ontario Liberals bring firsthand healthcare experience to Queen’s Park. We’re ready to fight for better healthcare for all Ontarians.
I joined Durham Regional Chair John Henry and members of Royal Canadian Legion branches from across Durham Region for the Poppy Campaign ceremony and flag raising.
The Poppy Campaign is an opportunity to honour those who served, those who continue to serve, and those who never returned home.
I encourage everyone to wear a poppy and support this year’s campaign, helping veterans and their families.

Voters in Niagara Falls voted for change. Ontario should press pause and meaningfully engage with the new Council and the community on their casino and Destination Niagara tourism plans. They need to reflect, listen, and work with the community across Niagara Region.

Sabrina Apitz Grossman wants to turn 32 this December. Holly Wardlow is fighting cancer too.
They are among several Ontarians whose doctors say they need specialized treatment, but who have been denied provincial funding to access it.
For some of these patients, treatment could mean survival.
Why is this government standing between patients and the care their doctors say they need?

In January 2023, Career Colleges Ontario warned the Ford government about suspicious OSAP applications. Ford and his minister chose willful blindness. It cost taxpayers millions, while alleged fraudsters rubbed elbows with PC insiders at fundraisers and made big donations to the PC war chest.
As Premier, I’ll watch every dollar closely. I’ll restore OSAP funding to legitimate colleges and make sure our education system works.
Happy early #Halloween, Ajax! 🎃👻
Can you guess what I’m dressed up as? 👀

Hope to see you there!
Students are losing their #OSAP funding. Career college staff are losing their jobs. So why should the Minister of Colleges and Universities get to keep his?
In Question Period, I challenged Premier Ford’s PC government to be transparent over its decision to cut OSAP funding and answer some pretty basic questions.
Unfortunately, they’re painting everyone with the same brush. There are students at career colleges that have passed audits and degree granting institutions like Tyndale University wondering if they’re going to be able to stay in their programs because OSAP has been pulled away from them.
🎃👻 Boo Fest is tomorrow!

Minister Calandra wants to swear in school board trustees so he can control them. The province needs to act in good faith. This could have been a reset but not a good start by the Minister.
Apply the Code of Conduct but let trustees do their job. Spending decisions are with staff anyways and the Ministry already controls so much.
Trustees in Ontario's supervised boards will be sworn in, after all, says @PaulCalandra ... Here's the reason #onted thestar.com/politics/provinc… via @torontostar

Students are dealing with debt, uncertainty, and the fallout from a government that let serious OSAP problems grow for years.
Nolan Quinn’s response? “I will not apologize.” “I will not resign.”
No remorse. No accountability. Just students left to deal with the consequences.

October is Islamic Heritage Month!
It was a pleasure to welcome members of the Muslim community to Queen’s Park for a reception hosted by the Ontario Liberal Caucus and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), celebrating Islamic art, culture, and Muslim communities’ contributions across Ontario.
Thank you to @ISNA_Canada and everyone who joined us for this special evening!
MPP’s are finally back at Queen’s Park to hold the Ford government accountable!
Students are struggling with OSAP cuts, and the government’s mismanagement continues to hurt post-secondary education.
We are calling for the Minister of Colleges and Universities to resign and for the government to restore funding to career colleges doing the right thing.

Housing targets. Gambling harms. Emergency funding.
Our MPPs asked ministers to explain the numbers — and whether the government’s plans actually match the problems Ontarians are facing.
