Apparently, the Scillonian decided to leave 6 mins early yesterday, in the middle of one of the world champs races. Which they knew was going on.
Narrowly avoided hitting gigs, by all accounts. That's our Ladies A squad in Beacon.

10 years ago almost to the day, in 2014, I was lucky enough to fly in this beauty out of @RAFStMawgan, Cornwall, where Classic Wings had located, sadly all too briefly. The pilot was Andrew Dixon, who’d previously flown me in a Dakota out of Biggin Hill😊. #privileged

The elegant DH Dragon Rapide first flew #OTD 17th April 1934. It operated with BEA between Land’s End & The Isles of Scilly up until May 1964, marking the last scheduled UK service operated by a bi-plane, when Sikorsky S61N helicopters were introduced on the route.

Our Full Flaps edition of our Dunsfold pod is here. A really fabulous chat with Mike Woodley👇 who heads up @AviationFilming, who provide aircraft for the Bond films amongst many others. Among his fleet: 3 747s and a famous Dakota. Enjoy it here: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcas…

The Alouette II first flew #OTD 12th Mar 1955. Here cameraman Johnny Jordan is slung beneath G-AWAP filming the skiing sequences for the 1969 Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Ties in very nicely with our latest pod with @AviationFilming. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcas…

Our newest podcast has dropped, and it’s a step back in time as we visit historic Croydon Aerodrome, Britain’s first major international airport. This episode has all the usual nonsense, including the weirdest beginning to any podcast you’ll ever hear. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcas…

TV Proms coverage doesn’t need presenters. Never has. Use feed from Radio 3 if necessary, plus title captions. Audience can look up info online. No pretend enthusiasm. Just the music speaking for itself.
I am a former TV Proms presenter.

Not sure how it wd work in practice, but so much is being lost at an alarming rate. Owners of historic aircraft view their role as caretakers before passing on their asset to another ‘caretaker’ in the interests of preserving for future generations. We need this with museums.

A thought/question: museums, private or otherwise are taking on valuable items of aviation heritage and historical relevance and interest. Does there need to be some kind of stipulation that should a museum be forced with closure, that the artefacts are protected? 1/2
