Obviously disappointing result but not surprising under the circumstances. A month out from the start of the domestic league season and having to start with a fifth-choice central defensive partnership makes a tough challenge even greater.
We go again at home in October.
Can’t wait for Newcastle Jets’ first ACLE contest tomorrow! Going to predict a lineup something like this. Maybe Clough gets the nod over Bertoncello, possibly Nunes over Schreiber. We’ll see soon enough.
Wall would be a good signing for Stephen Hoyle’s Newcastle Jets. All three would, in truth.
Tough to see a few of these players go, especially Ayres, Brier, and Lancaster. The rest are less surprising.
Newcastle Jets can confirm the following departures from their Ninja A-League squad.
We wish them all the best for their future.

Thought the newbies were good. Ollie and Gonzalez had moments. Schreiber looked great at the 6.
Kennedy’s distribution was excellent in the second half. Aquilina grew into the game as a result.
Debono got 90 mins. Other youth players rested for tonight. Scholarship surely.
We go again for 2030.
Unfortunately too passive this time, too little conviction, had two central defenders take pens, had our smallest goalkeeper on for pens. Work to be done for Poppa and the lads next time round.
Poppa will have his reasons for starting Nish and Lecks. I’m not sure what those reasons are though. Must change both to get any foothold in this game.

Massive respect to a group of players who helped create some great memories for football fans in the region.
Saddest to see Kota go. His arrival, followed by Millsy obviously, started this era.
A bit surprised by Bracco. Feel for him with that injury!😢
The rest 100% expected.
Fascinated by this one. No doubt he has a big offer on the table. Surely he doesn’t commit anywhere until after the World Cup…
🚨🌕| Auckland’s squad is set to be strengthened next season by the arrival of Lachlan Bayliss (23). ⚡️

Might as well join the Newcastle speculation…
Expect to go: Rose (confirmed), Natta (good on him), Taylor (plz go test yourself in Europe/Asia), Bayliss (sad, but fair play to him), Grozos, Gibson, James, Fryer, Scicluna, Van Dorssen.
You listen to offers for Adams and Dobson.
Hope will stay: Kota, Aquilina, Bracco, Nkomo, Nunes, Nassiep. All add value, some ready for a big season.
