The local women we met in Dover showed us incredible support today, even handing out food and water. People are seeing through the media narrative and making their own minds up about what happened.
During the blockade, we made sure women and children were able to move away. We even gave a mother with two young children £50 so she could take them into the port, get them some snacks and ice creams, and keep them comfortable while they waited.
The experience on the ground today, was the overwhelming majority of the women and local people we spoke to were thankful that people were actually doing something.
