Today was the most amazing day of my life. I married my best friend. I will never forget it for as long as I shall live and am so thankful for all of you for being a part of it. Here’s to our lives together as Donoho’s 😊.

If you played in the NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION SUMMER LEAGUE then there's absolutely no way on God's green earth you should be able to return and play college basketball. What happened to the sport I loved...

This makes me feel old, but what an awesome walk down memory lane. My first job in journalism was in Jackson, Mississippi. One of the most nerve-wrecking assignments I was responsible for compiling was our annual class of the state's top 12 high school football players. The 2015 @clarionledger Dandy Dozen class was one of the most talent rich we'd ever seen in the history of the state. Check out these some of these names and what they went on to do/are actively doing in the NFL. Jeffery Simmons, Noxubee County - Current Chicago Bear, 1st team All-Pro/4x Pro Bowler with Tennessee Titans A.J. Brown, Starkville - Current New England Patriot, won a Super Bowl with the Eagles, set Philly's single season receiving yards record, 3x 2nd team All-Pro D.K. Metcalf, Oxford - Current Pittsburgh Steeler, 2nd team All-Pro, 2x Pro Bowler with Seahawks Raekwon Davis, Meridian - 80 games (48 starts) over 5 seasons with Miami and Indianapolis Benito Jones, Wayne County - 71 games (38 starts) over 5 seasons with Miami and Detroit Kobe Jones, Starkville - UDFA who spent 2021-24 with 6 NFL teams, played in the CFL, currently playing in UFL

We traded a Land Rover for some Arbys gift cards. Should've just kept Q if that's what we were getting in return.
We have acquired a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick from the @Seahawks in exchange for Quenton Nelson.

Nobody wants this. Literally nobody.
Sources: The College Football Playoff is nearing a deal to expand to 24 teams, per sources. The new format will start in 2027 and is expected to come together in the near future, pending final approvals.

Covered a number of *close* games between Mississippi State and Alabama. The “We Believe” game in 2012, the 2014 game where State was the better team but couldn’t finish in Tuscaloosa… But the 2017 game was one of the best I covered in my 7 WCBI years. youtu.be/iF_oOKnO3Cs?si=ER7h…

We haven’t had a close encounter between the Bulldogs and the Tide since that 2017 game. I expect that to change today and I’m excited to see how it all goes down.

Hate to hear that this is the direction Gannett is going with its local papers. I got my start in this industry covering preps/recruiting @clarionledger. High school coverage was the backbone of our sports section and it means everything to local communities, especially ones where pro sports don't exist.
My start date with the Clarion Ledger was on Oct. 1, 2023. My last day would be exactly three years later. I learned today that USA Today eliminated my position covering Mississippi HS sports. Calling it an honor would be an understatement. The people, players, coaches and fans welcomed me more than I can imagine. I sincerely thank you, Mississippi, for welcoming a young 22-year-old kid from New Mexico with open arms. All I wanted was a shot. The athletes across the state rank among the best in the country and rightfully deserve the coverage. Not sure what lies ahead, but I still want to give this a swing; you can reach me at [email protected].

Last night, #MississippiState defeated an SEC opponent in Starkville for the first time since 2022. Relive last night's thrilling game in front of a sold-out Davis Wade Stadium:

Big ten was fine with adding a phantom second back on the clock for Michigan but didn’t want to help Purdue when they had no conclusive clangle to see a first down spot and still gave it to Wake Forest anyway. Make it make sense.

He's been doing this since his Decatur Central days! Great to see Javon balling out on a big D1 stage!

I love we have so many HS students who want to get into video and photography that have the opportunity to work sporting events on the sideline - there's enough space for everyone...as long as students learn the etiquette and rules for operating as a media pass holder!
High school football sidelines are clogged with content creators. Prep sports sports has become fertile ground for young content creators. It's teetering on becoming a free-for-all. By @EllynBriggs ⬇️

A fun claim to fame & a timely reminder: if it wasn't for yours truly working the sideline of this game at EMCC, nobody would have ever seen this angle of Buddy Stephens fighting an MACJC official on Netflix & Last Chance U. No, I never got residuals for this. (Language warning)

I've seen a ton of media professionals posting this - part of it makes me sad to see how so many were taken advantage of (and continue to be taken advantage of) in this space for the purpose of advancing their careers. You truly work in Sports & Media for the love of the game.

That said - I made 25k my first year working at WCBI. I was very fortunate to emerge from college debt free and have everything paid off prior to moving to Mississippi and I'm fully aware I'm an outlier on that front. But I wouldn't have traded that first job for anything.
