This is great! Model capability was my main complaint with Grok Bot. It would be interesting to see how this change affects the usages. Elon may want to go one step further and allow user to choose which model to use for a task. As long as usages are clearly communicated to users, people will be OK with it.

Imagine the enormous amount of pressure OpenAI is under now. Can they deliver in tomorrow's DevDay and release a new model that is competitive with Opus 5.5 in both capabilities and usages?

A few weeks ago I downgraded my Claude sub to $20 plan, but now with opus 5.5 I am back to the $200 plan. For codex I downgraded to $20 plan for now. Let’s see what they come out with on DevDay on Tuesday. OpenAI is certainly under pressure! Opus 5.5 is better than Fable and you get tons of usages. Who doesn’t want that? Competition is good for consumers! Do not have any blind loyalty to any model. Take advantage of whatever model is best at the moments.

Elon still can't get over Gates shorting Tesla stocks. I can understand. Gates has way more money than he could ever spend. Why even bother with the Tesla shorts?

Opus 5.5 is really good. What surprised me the most is that even if you are on $20 plan, you get decent amount of usages. Have upgraded back to Max 5X plan now! In contrast, GPT 6 Astra drains usages way too fast and I often used up whole week’s usage after just 2-3 days on 5X plan.
