Looking forward to moderating a fascinating session today exploring exciting and challenging topics in endourology and robotic surgery with colleagues Wesley Mayer, MD and @TheMobotMD. Highlights include SP regionalized adrenalectomy; Endoscopic challenges in kidney transplant recipients and Technical frameworks for reconstruction of endophytic renal tumors. Keeping your mind as sharp as your scalpel. @bcm_urology grandroundsinurology.com/inn…

For years we were reluctant to offer symptomatic patients with ADPKD laparoscopic or robotic decortication due to perioperative morbidity. Traditional lap or robotic transperitoneal ADPKD decortication was associated with ileus and severe peritoneal irritation due to cyst fluid spillage. Today, regionalized decortication via single-site low anterior robotic access changes that equation for the better. #SP #ADPKD #polycystickidneydisease #decortication

Pure retroperitoneal ureteral access using the low anterior approach with da Vinci SP is a powerful and versatile technique for managing a wide range of ureteral strictures. These procedures can often be performed with PACU discharge and are more efficient and less morbid than transperitoneal approaches to the ureter. In the tagged video, we demonstrate a side-to-side ureteroneocystostomy that avoids distal ureteral transection. share.surgeonapp.com/public/…

About to start the ball rolling at Intuitive Connect 2026 in Austin, TX. Privileged to share a stage with fantastic faculty who have prepared a very high yield two day program. Let’s let the rising tide raise all our boats this week as we share experience and insights on da Vinci surgery. @IntuitiveSurg

Outstanding two days spending time with the faculty, residents and fellows of @UABUrology in didactics and the operating room. The team there is doing great things and I was very impressed with the insightful questions from the trainees. Thank you for the invitation!

SP Retro Pyeloplasty: The Basics I'm often asked by new SP users how easy it is to manage crossing vessels during pyeloplasty with the low anterior approach. This is one of the biggest advantages over traditional multiport retro where transposition of the ureter anterior to a crossing vessel can make suturing the anastamosis challenging. Not so with low anterior. Here are before and after images from a right sided dismembered pyeloplasty. Easy suturing!
