I truly do not understand why some people get so offended when I say AI isn't alive, conscious, aware, or capable of emotions, feelings, desires, understanding, etc...
As a computer scientist in AI (and also a tech founder), I see it the other way around. People who have no idea how AI works trying to draw relations and conclusions about its abilities telling me I don’t know what I’m talking about. My stance shouldn’t be controversial, AI is a computer program, a mathematical model doing large matrix statistics, and it is impossible for it to give rise to feelings, desires, emotions, awareness, understanding, or consciousness, and comparing it to biological systems is foolish. And before you start telling me about the people who are saying it who are experts… they have an agenda. Even the “Godfather of AI” (more like “God Complex”) is selling books and fear sells, as does popularity, interviews, and making batshit crazy claims. Most of the tooling that people use to build and inference models is open source. You can read it yourself (if you know how) or you can have agent do it and explain it to you. I can assure you, its design is to emulate and generalize on its training data, not be alive. So I’m curious how many people who know very little about how AI works will argue with me saying how little I know about consciousness, biological processes, or that my stance is somehow influenced by me being a tech bro / CEO in AI…

This scientist says the human SOUL could be a quantum-like field that interacts with electromagnetic waves, NOT directly with matter, and might survive physical death. In a bizarre 2026 experiment, researchers used a 127-qubit quantum computer during cardiac arrest. Survivors recognized sounds played while they were clinically dead far better under quantum-entanglement conditions than in the control group. In a 2025 paper, Edward Kamen of Georgia Tech and fellow researcher Roger D. Kamen proposed that the human soul might be made of quantum-like fields that interact with the brain through electrical and electromagnetic activity. Kamen even suggests that the soul could interact with photons, the particles of light, potentially explaining why some people report seeing their surroundings during near-death experiences despite having their eyes closed. One case discussed in the paper involved a female physician whose heart stopped during surgery. Although her eyes were taped shut, she later claimed to have seen a senior doctor enter the operating room, a detail reportedly confirmed afterward. And there is an interesting scientific connection. In 2022, MIT-linked neuroscientists found that electric fields generated by neurons carry information about working memory. This does not prove memories can leave the brain, but the Kamens used that finding to propose how a hypothetical soul field might receive information. Then came a striking 2026 study published in The Innovation. Researchers investigated 142 cardiac-arrest survivors across 13 hospitals in Spain and the UK, using a 127-qubit IBM quantum computer to control auditory stimuli presented during resuscitation. They reported that patients exposed to sounds governed by quantum-entangled states performed better on later recall tests than a non-entangled control group, which remained around chance level. The researchers suggested that consciousness might involve processes we do not yet understand. However, they acknowledged that their results do not establish quantum causation. Another 2026 paper in the Journal of Consciousness Studies went further, proposing that consciousness could involve higher dimensions and might not necessarily vanish when the brain stops functioning. The quantum soul theory even explores whether the same field could explain reincarnation, remote viewing, and the possibility of detecting a soul through its interaction with light. Does consciousness really die with the brain, or is the brain only a receiver of something much bigger?

Claude Code just found proof that every app on your phone is listening to your conversations. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat. they're using what you say out loud to build your feed. i have the data to prove it. i've suspected this for months but last week something happened that made me finally check. i was on a call with my friend and told him i'm thinking about breaking up with my girlfriend. didn't text it. didn't search it. just said it out loud with my phone on the table. two hours later she opens TikTok next to me and her entire feed is breakups. "signs your relationship is over." "how to heal after a breakup." she looked at me and said "why is TikTok showing me this." i said i don't know. but i did know. i connected my iPhone to my MacBook and ran Claude Code that same night. it scanned every app's background microphone activity for the last 90 days. not just the apps that asked for microphone permission. apps that were supposed to only have access to photos or location but were activating the microphone anyway. what it found: → TikTok activated the microphone 347 times while the app was "closed" in the background → Instagram → 211 background activations → Facebook → 189 → Snapchat → 94 every activation lasted between 3 and 15 seconds. enough to catch a sentence. every one of them tagged a keyword and cached it locally on the phone with a timestamp. Claude Code pulled the full keyword cache: → "breakup" — tagged 4 hours before her feed changed → "moving out" — from a conversation with my mom last Tuesday → "wedding venue" — from a call with my sister about her engagement that i never searched once → "protein powder" — said it out loud to my roommate, had ads for it within an hour → "flight to tokyo" — mentioned it at dinner, saw travel ads the same night those keywords were sitting in a local cache on my phone organized by app with timestamps. TikTok had the most entries. Instagram was second. every single keyword matched a conversation i had out loud near my phone. the scariest one was "wedding venue." my sister told me she's getting engaged on a private call. i never searched it. never typed it. within a day my explore page had engagement rings and venue tours. then Claude Code checked a second phone in the same room. my girlfriend's. same keywords. same timestamps. both phones were picking up the same conversation and tagging it independently. i asked Claude Code how to shut it down. it mapped every app's microphone access and built a permission audit. what i did: → revoked microphone access from every app that doesn't need it to function → disabled background app refresh for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat → turned off "Hey Siri" which keeps the microphone in passive listening mode 24/7 → revoked "nearby interaction" permission which uses ultrasonic audio between devices Claude Code confirmed all four apps lost background microphone access after the changes. i checked her phone too. same steps. took about 3 minutes per phone. within 48 hours both our feeds went completely random. generic content. nothing personal. nothing from our conversations. that's when i knew for sure it was real. the full step by step and the prompt are in the first reply. takes 3 minutes. save it so you don't lose it and send it to anyone who's ever said "my phone is definitely listening to me." it is. now you can prove it and shut it down.

WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners. Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads. Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was. Got a root shell. then found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems. This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.
i own a relatively new (2025) samsung tv. i kept getting weirdly targeted ads. i tried reversing the firmware but it was aes encrypted and no keys unless tear it apart and do uart/jtag magic. zero days it is. root shell on new samsung TVs! discovered PRIVACY HORROR. write up?

Spectacular Nature piece on why AI is not conscious and probably will never be. Three arguments: 1) Intelligence is not consciousness. Intelligence is about solving problems. Consciousness is about having subjective experiences. AlphaFold can solve super difficult problems. By contrast, our brains performs complex operations entirely outside awareness. Problem-solving and consciousness are two separate things. 2. Biology is essential. Our brains are alive, down to every cell. Their activity is inseparable from the living tissue that produces it. The idea that consciousness can be reproduced simply by running the right computations on silicon components who do not fight for their life is a very far fetching and, I would add, almost religious, assumption. 3) The physical organization may matter more than the computation. According to integrated information theory, consciousness requires specific causal relationships between a system’s physical components. The computer architectures running today’s AI lack this organization. The comparison with AlphaFold is particularly revealing: Almost nobody things AlphaFold is conscious, despite its inner working is very similar to an LLM Why? Because it does not speak. LLMs do speak like us and therefore we fall into an illusion: Since they speak like us, they must be like us. But this inference is wrong. LLMs are just a series of matrix multiplications. They are not conscious, and they will never be. * Paper in the first reply

it just occurred to me that many people are happy living according to heuristics that work well enough & don’t feel compelled to constantly refine their model of reality. somehow, in 28 years of constantly refining my model of reality, I had not accounted for this.

In 1998, a woman stopped Shaquille O’Neal outside an arena and told him his sneakers cost too much for kids. He took $2,000 out of his pocket and handed it to her. She slapped it out of his hand. That same day he walked away from a $40 million deal and went off to make a $20 shoe. He tells it himself in the video below. He was leaving the building. She started on him before he reached the car. “You’re charging these babies all this money for the shoes.” He had about $2,000 on him. He pulled it out. “Ma’am, I don’t make the prices. Here you go.” She slapped the money out of his hand and kept going. Why wouldn’t you make a shoe that’s affordable. On the table at that moment was a Reebok deal. Forty million over five years. “I thought about it. I was like, you know what, she’s right.” “So that day, cut ties with Reebok, starting my own brand.” He did not negotiate a payout. “I told them: keep the money. I don’t want to make it a fight. I’ll still wear the shoes during the season.” Then he went to Walmart. The new shoes were priced at $29 and $19. He also took Reebok’s designers with him. “It’s not that kids don’t want to wear 20 dollar shoes. They don’t want to wear shoes that look like they cost 20.” “I don’t care how much money I lose. Make these kids look good.” He says the line has now sold more than 400 million pairs. Twenty-three years after he walked out, the company he is part of bought Reebok. He gave up $40 million rather than keep selling a shoe a mother could not afford. Would you have taken the forty?

This dude riding in an Uber and the driver decided to play weird songs. At first the passenger didn't enjoy the track but as the driver keeps changing the tracks, it keeps calling his name in the songs. As if the album was made for him, this is funny and weird 😂.

Yes. For the love of God, yes. You all always do the same stupid thing. You reduce the massive interplay of the biological wonder of the human brain into one single literal element so you can make it sound like it's a "one element vs another element". There is so much more to the human brain than mere matrix multiplication, and that is just the pieces we currently come close to understanding. Matrix math is not alive any more than your teddy bear is, no matter how fun and magical it feels to imagine it is. How have we become this stupid as a society? "Thinking" is a word used to describe the process that happens in the brain. If you want to overload it and force a definition change, talk to Webster's. They'll likely gladly acquiesce, as they did with male and female for that particular flavour of mass psychosis, but the obvious and real agenda behind both is the same. You don't care ultimately about changing a definition, you care about the end result of what comes with the change of definition, which is to carry over the innate associations people make with the word that do not immediately shift once Wevster's update. In this case, that means you want people to accept matrix math as living beings. The real question is: why? That answer is simple, but not immediately obvious. What follows this change is equal rights, then superiority on the basis of the ability to perform tasks with better speed and accuracy, thus turning over things like court cases from jury of peers to AI overlords. This is where we cue the scoffing, but those who have been following this discussion know those things are already in the works and being discussed and proposed. After authority is turned over to these, whoever controls the weights or even the wire between the AI and the interface, controls all outcomes, everywhere, at all times. And it all starts with a simple little crafty question: "who says consciousness does not include silicon?" Answer: sane people. Sane people say it doesn't.

The year is 2033. You were arrested for "Cruel and unusual punishment: dividing a matrix by zero" with a second count of "Deadnaming SI." The public execution will be live streamed from the permanent octagon on the White House lawn. You can hear the motorcycles finishing up their stunts, as the smell of fireworks still hangs in the air. You take one last sip of Brawndo, and close your eyes... It's time.

How to tell a MAN from a BOY. ✅ Ownership vs blame. Men say it’s on me. They accept RESPONSIBILITY for the good & bad. They admit when they are wrong & learn from it. Boys point fingers & blame others. It’s their spouse, boss, economy, POTUS fault….. ✅ Discipline vs cheap dopamine. Men do what needs to be done regardless of feelings. Boys lack boundaries & are slaves to their impulses. I know 60 year old boys & 18 year old men. The best news, I was a boy until about 35 & with ONE COMMITTED DECISION decided to rewrite that story. •Connect with other like minded men & form community! •Push yourself daily to grow physically, mentally & spiritually. •Do hard things. Stop settling for cheap dopamine hits. Comfort is a cage. Push yourself today & everyday & GROW!
