Hyperscaler demand is already in place, with the AI data center market at $180 billion this year and expected to hit $800 billion by 2030. @RonWestfallDX of @HyperFRAME_Res tells @RemyBlaireNews he sees no bubble on the horizon and calls $GOOGL's drop "pretty much a hiccup."

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

Congratulations to Antonio Napoli and Mikael Mazur on being named 2027 @OpticaWorldwide Fellows – one of the highest honors in optics and photonics. Their work to advance the technologies that connect intelligence and power the world's networks is truly critical. This reflects the extraordinary talent, curiosity and expertise that continues to set @Nokia apart.
Two Nokia innovators. Two pioneering contributions to optical technology. One outstanding recognition. Mikael Mazur of @BellLabs and Antonio Napoli of Nokia have been elected as 2027 Fellows of Optica. From distributed fiber-optic sensing across transoceanic distances to DSP-enabled coherent optical systems, their work is advancing what's possible for optical networks. Huge congratulations to both. #Optics #Photonics #Innovation

The Optical Cold War is heating up. Custom chips don’t have to leave NVIDIA’s orbit. NVLink Fusion keeps them connected. A Marvell–Lumentum deal could bring more of the silicon-to-light stack under one roof. Broadcom would face a broader rival. $NVDA $MRVL $LITE $COHR $AVGO
🚨Crazy thought: What if Marvell acquires Lumentum with backing from Google and NVIDIA?

Existing telco networks were designed to connect people. The next job is connecting intelligence: sensing the physical world and acting on it in real time. That needs the RAN to move from fixed-function hardware to being software-defined and capable of leveraging accelerated compute. A year into our partnership with @nvidia, it’s starting: the first AI-RAN call on a live commercial network with @TMobile , Europe’s first field trial with @ElisaOyj , and 20%+ spectral efficiency gains already and on track for 100%. Enjoyed my conversation on year two with NVIDIA’s Ronnie Vasishta at the @6Gflagship in Helsinki today.

Oracle Announces Deep Trust AI Architecture My thoughts based on the early briefings that the team gave us at @HyperFRAME_Res 👇 “The enterprise AI race is entering a new phase, and Oracle is shifting the competitive battleground from model intelligence to architectural trust,” said Steven Dickens, CEO, HyperFRAME Research. “While much of the industry is still grappling with securing AI agents and governing access to enterprise data, Oracle is addressing these challenges at the source. With Deep Data Security enforcing policies directly in the database and Deep NL2SQL bringing business context, continuous learning, and verification to AI-generated answers, Oracle is fundamentally changing the equation for enterprise AI. What sets the Deep Trust AI Architecture apart is its unified approach to embedding trust into how AI accesses, understands, and acts on enterprise data. Oracle is raising the industry bar by unifying intelligence, security, and governance at the foundation of the agentic enterprise, empowering organizations to innovate faster, scale AI with confidence, and deliver more trusted business." oracle.com/news/announcement…

Software is driving @IBM right now, but consulting has hit a plateau. The headline figures for Q3 2026 look solid on the surface. Total revenue reached $17.1bn, up 5% year over year, whilst non-GAAP EPS jumped 11% to $2.95. Strong operational execution expanded pre-tax margins and generated $7.8bn in free cash flow across the first nine months, allowing management to raise its full-year cash flow outlook by more than $1bn. That liquidity provides genuine operational runway, particularly after deploying $11.4bn on acquisitions so far this year. Software remains the clear growth engine, generating $7.8bn with gross profit margins sitting at 82.5%. The underlying data products surged 19%, and Hybrid Cloud grew 11%. Red Hat delivered 11% constant-currency revenue growth, with bookings accelerating into the high teens and OpenShift topping $2.4bn in annual recurring revenue at 30% growth. HashiCorp integration is tracking ahead of friction as well, with Arvind Krishna pointing to Vault security and multicloud automation as essential components for enterprise AI governance. The consulting business tells a very different story. Revenue was flat at $5.3bn, with Intelligent Operations contracting 2%. Analysis points to widespread digital transformation fatigue across enterprise buyers. Instead of multi-year advisory programmes, clients want rapid, localised projects with clear returns. If consulting execution cannot keep pace with software deployments, IBM will eventually face an integration bottleneck. Infrastructure delivered a divided picture. Revenue rose 4% to $3.7bn, lifted by a 31% gain in distributed infrastructure. The Power hardware cycle continues to demonstrate resilience across UNIX, Linux, and i workloads. IBM's Storage franchise continues to provide similar ballast. Meanwhile, IBM Z revenue dropped 20%. That decline might alarm casual observers, but mainframe performance follows a predictable 10-to-12-quarter product cycle. Following the z17 launch in June 2025, hardware spiked 61% in the fourth quarter of 2025 before elevated comparisons led to a 42% drop in the second quarter of 2026. Transaction Processing revenue rose 10% in Q3 as clients converted newly installed processing capacity into recurring annuity streams. The TL;DR - High-margin recurring software and disciplined cash generation give IBM the stability to fund its dividend and absorb hardware cyclicality. How management tackles the consulting backlog and integrates recent acquisitions will determine whether this momentum remains durable. Check out my Research Note below. hyperframeresearch.com/2026/…
