Stars at least taking a few down with them before it’s over. I can’t blame the bowlers here. Yes they’re haemorrhaging runs but it’s not their fault. The batters let them down. #WBBL12

Stars still going for just under 11 an over. That’s what happens when you strive too hard for wickets because you don’t have enough runs on the board. Your bowling suffers. This is not the bowlers’ fault. It’s all on the batters. Never got going at any stage. #WBBL12

Stars have a second wicket. Sadly it’ll be all in consolation. The damage is well and truly done. They haven’t backed up after Friday night’s heartbreaking loss and have been utterly insipid today save for Lanning. But there’s a third wicket to make it look respectable. #WBBL12

Stars capitulating under this onslaught. Haemorrhaging 11 runs an over. Inexcusable. This team is a joke. #WBBL12

Stars straining too hard for wickets and unsurprisingly they’re going for runs. Always happens when you’re defending a scanty total. Early night coming up by the looks. #WBBL12

Stars have an early wicket. That’s the good news. The bad news: Moonee is off to another flyer. If they don’t get her out very soon they won’t have a chance. #WBBL12

Stars end up with 6-136. On this ground and against this batting lineup I doubt that’s even close to a competitive total. Lanning had no support. Not only do they need early wickets, they also need to avoid leaking runs in the powerplay. #WBBL12

And now Lanning does have to go and with her goes any last sliver of hope for the Stars. Been an insipid performance today. #WBBL12

Only one run off the 16th over. This is horrifically bad batting. It’s Lanning or bust. If she goes now so does any hope of posting a competitive total. #WBBL12

And the bleeding continues. Lanning absolutely has to stay in until the end otherwise this total won’t be competitive and we’ll be looking at an early finish. #WBBL12

Stars falling even deeper into a hole. Can’t get it off the square and now the middle order is crumbling. It’s taken 15 overs to get to 100. Time to throw all caution to the wind otherwise this total won’t be remotely competitive. #WBBL12

Stars seriously need to lift the run rate. The current rate will only get them to around 130 and on this ground and against these opponents that will get gobbled up very quickly. They’re in a massive hole. Time to put the foot down. #WVBL12

Renegades so lucky to win that. Only avoided the super over because the Hurricanes keeper took the ball in front of the stumps which constitutes a no-ball. That game deserved a super over. #WBBL12

Wow. Not only did Tom Papley return a positive drug test, he was also driving on a suspended license. Monster ban coming. Absolute idiot. #afl

Tom Papley has been done for drug driving. A lengthy suspension will almost certainly follow. So incredibly stupid. #afl

Yikes. The republicans are getting absolutely towelled up in the midterms. It’s a bloodbath. #midterms26

RBA is cancelled.

What is happening at Junction Oval? Do these players have a 9pm curfew or something, or are they worried about rain? #WBBL12

I now know @CollingwoodFC’s fixture off by heart and am already assessing which games I want to attend with my respite worker. So far I’m looking at Round 10 V Richmond and Round 16 V GWS. #afl #AFLFixture #gopies

With three matches scheduled for the @MCG in Round 18 of the 2027 @AFL season, the match between @CollingwoodFC and @GeelongCats will almost certainly get the Thursday night or Friday night time slot. Which will it be? Please vote and retweet! #afl #AFLFixture #gopies
