see like, this does very little for me personally, but this is rhetorical crack for a massive chunk of voters in this country lol
in other words, its Rob Sandism

Feels like GOP learned wrong lesson from the success of the Trump They/Them ad. Point was Harris was focused on cultural issues when you’re worried about the economy. GOP flooding the zone with these type ads and voters could start asking why they’re talking about this instead of gas, groceries, housing or the war

Nowhere in the body of this article is a voter who was previously undecided or voting for her "dismayed." What are we even doing here

Seen a lot of discourse about how the blue wave will form this year particularly in Governor's races, and I hate the notion of "well it doesn't make sense, so it can't happen"
Today I've seen it about New York. Quick reminder that CONNECTICUT was closer than KANSAS in 2018!

Got our latest poll back at @TheArgumentMag. I've scoured a lot of data and cut it a bunch of different ways, but no matter *what* you do, all I can say is: JFC, this is one of the worst environments I have ever seen for Republicans, and literally all of it is just due to Trump.
i think its fair to be skeptical of overly rosy polls, but some libs on here are so addicted to dooming that they just intentionally ignore every positive fundemental. its really annoying lol

Husted says he wants to end the war, also says he will vote against the measure to end the war
🚨Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) tells @politico:
“The war needs to come to an end as quickly as possible so that we can lower gas prices.”
It’s his furthest comments yet on the Iran war amid sky-high fuel prices.
But a spokesperson says Husted will NOT vote for the Dem-led war powers resolution this week when it comes up in the Senate — showing how he’s walking a finer with Trump and Vance expected to visit in the coming weeks to help shore up his tight race.

Wait. The Michael LaRosa who recently endorsed Mike Rogers over Abdul El-Sayed?
Who said that Mamdani shouldn’t attend the memorial ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11?
Who spends all of his time on Fox News trashing Democrats — from former Biden administration officials to the progressive wing of the party?
Who works for a lobbying firm led by a Trump ally that has a private prison company and Flock as clients, and represented foreign interests tied to alleged sanctions evasion, money laundering, and fraud?
Who resigned in disgrace as Jill Biden’s press secretary after he was caught by Secret Service bringing dates to a secure floor (twice), putting her safety at risk?
That Michael LaRosa?

In case you missed Susan Collins embroiled in a pay-to-play scheme…
Maine, it’s time to send Susan Collins packing this November. We can’t afford six more years of being sold out to Trump and Collins’ corporate cronies.

Wow. So this ProPublica reporting alleges that Collins:
— Helped steer millions of dollars in federal defense funding toward Navatek while its CEO, Martin Kao, and his network were financially supporting her political operation.
— Was the beneficiary of a $150,000 donation to a pro-Collins super PAC that Kao funneled through a shell company, concealing that the money ultimately came from a federal contractor.
— Was allegedly tied to an arrangement where, after that $150,000 contribution, Kao told colleagues that Collins had committed to supporting $32 million in naval funding for Navatek.
— Had staff who, according to emails reviewed by ProPublica, pressed Navy officials toward Navatek for specific contracts, despite the awards nominally being competitive.
— Allegedly told Kao in a private meeting, “You’ve seen me deliver,” while her political operation was seeking continued financial support from him.
— Had a campaign fundraiser contact Navatek after the hidden $150,000 donation because, according to an email, “Senator Collins would like to call Martin to thank him.”
— Benefited from more than $40,000 in donations Kao allegedly orchestrated through extended family members ahead of a 2019 Collins event at Navatek’s Maine facility.
— Had campaign emails that, according to ProPublica, mixed discussion of Navatek’s Collins-backed federal funding with fundraising plans for her reelection.
— After the shell-company donation drew scrutiny, people connected to Kao and the pro-Collins super PAC discussed having the entity make charitable donations and scholarships, including in Maine, to make it look like a legitimate organization rather than merely a vehicle for concealing the political contribution.
— Became a focus of FBI anti-corruption agents who, by late 2024, believed there was enough evidence to pursue a broader bribery investigation involving members of Congress.
— Then saw that broader investigation effectively die after Trump returned to office and the FBI anti-corruption unit and DOJ Public Integrity Section handling these cases were depleted by firings, departures and policy changes.
New: In late 2024, FBI investigators had enough evidence to launch a sweeping bribery probe that could ensnare top lawmakers, including Sen. Susan Collins. Then Trump was reelected and eviscerated the FBI and DOJ teams handling public corruption probes. propub.li/4yLLwaF

Replying to @Thorongil16
don't think 39% college is unreasonable. 2020 was 38% college, per exits.
IMO the real red flag here in the Marist poll (and it's a major one) is no partisanship weight of *any kind*. doesn't have to be recalled vote, but you do need something.
i... dont think i buy it?
but like, Marist is an S-tier pollster and they weren't massively off in 2024 (unlike Selzer), so idk man😭
