Here is a link to a padlet with the start of a list for graphic novels suitable for primary schools. If you think I've missed any that definitely need to be on there just mention it in the comments and I'll put it on. padlet.com/rruddick9zra/73uh… #whyilovegraphicnovels

Incredibly excited to announce we will be joining @bdmmetal and @FumingMouth on tour in January & Feb 2027.
Tickets on sale and selling FAST!!!!
It’s not big or clever and that’s everything I wanted from it. Sometimes you just need an easy read!
Best UK death metal band going and the new stuff is somehow even better. Cannot wait for this absolute belter to drop next year.
• @CSDeathmetal’s new album, "Cradle Of The Rotten, Shrine To Those Most Foul" officially drops January 22nd, 2027! The first taste of this beast, "Lashed by Chain" is now playing!

Been dipping into this regularly over the past week now and can’t praise it enough. It’s the perfect book for newly qualified teachers but also offers so much to experienced practitioners too. Everything has such a clear purpose and most importantly is practical.
Delighted to receive a copy of this new release from @KateHeap1 in the post yesterday. Looking forward to reading through it and then applying it in the classroom. Thanks to @HLearningPD for the copy.
After far too long, I have added a few new titles to my padlet and book shop, including the brilliant Ghost & Toast, the latest Donut squad by @neillcameron and Wilomina by @metaphrog

Detective Beans by @Exocomics is fast becoming one of the best series you can have in your classroom. Every book is filled with stunning artwork and the stories are always heartwarming and hilarious throughout. Book three is no exception and is another must have.
Picked up a few exciting new reads for the class. It would be rude not to tuck into them first though.
Far more fun that it had any right to be be. Xenomorphs being air dropped into World War Two is something I never expected to read, but loved it. Fast paced, brutal and just fun to read.

My latest article for Educate magazine. Audiobooks, magazines, comics, podcasts, digital texts... it all counts.
Do I have time to read my pile of unread books? Don’t be daft. Did I still need this copy of Casey Jones? Obviously.
One of the most consistent bands out there and this is another top offering. Big uk tour is definitely needed, as it has been way too long since I watched them grace a stage for a headline set.
Hoping that people can help or point me in the right direction. Our classroom libraries need a major update across the school, but with 16 classes to do this will not be cheap at all. I am struggling to find any grants that we are eligible for or that still exist.
I have some plans about how we can raise some of the money and will also be workign with the PTA. However, the furniture needs doing too, so it is going to take over £10,000 to do this right. Can anyone point me in the direction of help with this? @jonnybid @mrsd_bookshelf
The amount of people who avoid using books in assembly or only ever use the same ones they have for thirty years is scandalous when this amazing resource is available. It’s always good to add in some new texts or look for more that share the same message.
My 2026-27 overview of picturebook assembly suggestions is now ready. I've continued to focus on empathy and inclusion, linking the book selections to significant dates across the year.
I really hope it's useful. The link can be found here: padlet.com/Jon_Biddle/readin…
