Reparations require deciding who pays, who receives, and on what basis. Current British taxpayers include descendants of people who never owned slaves, people whose ancestors arrived long after abolition, and people whose ancestors were themselves enslaved elsewhere.
Butler’s Rolex analogy treats inherited guilt as transferable across generations and nationalities. That logic doesn’t hold once you try to apply it consistently — African kingdoms sold captives, the British were the ones who spent blood and treasure ending the Atlantic trade, and the people alive today didn’t commit the acts.
Calling the objection ‘racism’ doesn’t answer the practical question: who is actually liable, and why should people with no personal involvement be taxed for it?

I feel like they just make this stuff up. I highly doubt she received thousands of abusive messages, I doubt thousands of people even know who she is. It’s a very successful grifting strategy. Engage in flagrant race hustling and then claim you were racially abused to justify the continuation of the hustle.

Calling for historic guilt, and thus reparations, is racist unless applied equally to all racial/national/ethnic groups.
To single out whites and only apply it to them, not to all, is the very personification of racial discrimination.

Between the 16th and 19th centuries, an estimated 1 million to 1.25 million white Europeans were captured and enslaved along the Barbary Coast of North Africa.
Operating from major ports like Algiers, Tunis, Tripoli, and Morocco, Barbary corsairs (pirates) launched aggressive maritime raids across the Mediterranean. They sailed as far north as Ireland, Iceland, and the English coast, targeting merchant ships and raiding coastal villages to capture civilians.
Once taken to North Africa, these European captives were sold in local slave markets. They were subjected to forced labor, used as galley slaves on pirate ships, or held in prison camps until high-priced ransoms were paid by their families, European governments, or Christian religious orders.
The trade was eventually dismantled in the early 19th century through a series of military conflicts, including the Barbary Wars fought by the United States and heavy naval bombardments by British and Dutch fleets, concluding with the French colonization of Algiers in 1830.
To this day, no financial reparations or formal state apologies have ever been issued by North African nations to the European nations or the descendants of those affected by the Barbary slave trade.
Foreigners are securing political appointments due to a succession of anti-democratic governments that engaged in deceit, manipulation, and disregard for the democratic preferences of the ethnic population of Great Britain over the course of several decades. The foreign people's success in these roles has also been influenced/accelerated by the votes of individuals who are not of English origin as their numbers grow exponentially. I don't accept we should be governed, policed, or judged by non-ethnic British people in our ancestral homeland.
