MFA of Russia: Report by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, 2026, «Regarding the Situation with the Glorification of Nazism and the Spread of Neo-Nazism and Other Practices That Contribute to Fueling Contemporary Forms of Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance» continues the efforts of the Ministry to draw attention to manifestations in a number of countries around the world of various forms of glorification of the Nazi movement, neo-Nazism, racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. The subject of the document is the campaign in foreign states to destroy a large body of Soviet, as well as their own national memorial heritage dedicated to the memory of those who fought Nazism and fascism, and the gathering pace of efforts to glorify Nazis, collaborators and their present-day followers. Along with this, the present review, as has become traditional, reflects the line taken by most Western countries of inflaming rabid Russophobia, discriminating against ethnic, linguistic and confessional minorities, and dividing societies into full-fledged members and “non-citizens,” “subhumans.” The greatest activity in this sphere, in the spirit of the “best” authoritarian practices, is shown by the Baltic States, Ukraine, Moldova, Poland and Finland. They are “fulfilling the plan at a crash pace” of Russophobia, glorification of fascism, implantation of Nazism and segregation in society. <…> In the countries of the “collective West” and at the level of European Union institutions, a campaign is gathering pace to falsify history and diminish the role of the USSR in securing Victory over Nazism, fascism and militarism in the Great Patriotic War and the Second World War, as well as in creating the modern system of international relations. At the same time, the latter is being rapidly undermined in an effort to replace it with a certain “rules-based order,” behind the screen of which they attempt to conceal the same neo-colonial approaches of former metropolitan powers toward the states of the Global South that broke free from their oppression in the 20th century. <…> In terms of content, the present report is traditionally based on the provisions of the resolution “Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance,” which Russia, together with a wide circle of co-sponsors from all regions of the world, annually submits for consideration by the UN General Assembly. As is well known, the overwhelming majority of members of the world community share Russia’s approaches to the glorification of Nazism and the justification of racism. Unprecedented pressure from the “collective West” is unable to change this trend. In 2025, the Russian resolution was supported by a majority of the world’s countries — 119. Fifty-one delegations voted against, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Ukraine and Moldova, which has joined them in recent years, as well as the EU member states (the latter, as a rule, used to abstain in the vote until 2022, but now ever more clearly demonstrate support for neo-Nazism); another 10 countries abstained. <…> On the basis of data from international and national sources, the report summarizes factual information on new manifestations, in any form, of the glorification of the Nazi movement, neo-Nazism, racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance in the focus countries, as well as on the part of EU Brussels, which is playing an increasingly active role in these processes. Russophobic instinct underlying the late Senator Graham’s bill approved by the House on September 16th (and earlier by the Senate) makes a grand disservice to the current Administration’s efforts to Make America Great Again. Destabilizing energy markets by blocking Russian oil and gas trade as Mideast supply is dramatically cut is an invitation to ever-higher prices at the pump close to midterm November elections. Big quarrel with Russia and China, while being geopolitically a lose-lose situation, only plays into the hands of Euro-Atlantic warmongers so eager to get Moscow, Beijing and Washington at loggerheads. This is something to ponder by those who applaud Senator Graham’s legacy.

🇷🇺🇺🇸 As Americans mourn for thousands of innocent victims of 9/11 that happened 25 years ago, Russia shares the grief and sorrow of this nation, having herself experienced hideous attacks by international terrorism which is a common threat that can only be eradicated through joint efforts. It is highly symbolic that right after 9/11 attack it was President Vladimir Putin who first called then-President George W. Bush with words of sympathy and offers of help. At that time our countries cooperated successfully in confronting the evil of terrorism, although later developments, including NATO expansion, overshadowed that positive promise. Now it is high time for Russia and the US to work together in a new geopolitical environment, not allowing the globalist elites to provoke a new round of Russian-American confrontation.

⚡️ Statement by Aide to the President of Russia Yury Ushakov following a telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump (September 8, 2026) 💬 Yury Ushakov: President Vladimir Putin had another telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump. In their customary respectful and business-like manner, the Leaders exchanged opinions on the trips made by US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow and Kiev on September 5-6. The telephone conversation lasted exactly one hour. It was constructive and quite frank. As you understand, the conversation itself is confidential, so I am not at liberty to share with you many important details and nuances. The outcome of the visit by said US representatives was assessed as positive. The work through this channel and some others will continue. Clearly, the conversation centered on Ukrainian settlement. Donald Trump directly communicated the desirability of bringing the conflict to an end as soon as possible, as it would immediately open up prospects – impressive and far-reaching ones at that – for the full restoration of relations between the U.S. and Russia. In his view, this would have a particular impact on trade and economic ties, promising huge ‌benefits for ⁠both nations. Donald Trump is keen to see a breakthrough achieved during his presidency. President Putin supported this approach in the context of potentially building a constructive partnership between the two great powers and praised the mediation efforts by the US and Donald Trump personally with respect to finding solutions to the Ukrainian conflict. An objective and extensive analysis of the current developments in the special military operation was provided, along with our vision of the overall progress on the battlefield and achieving the goals and objectives of the special military operation. Speaking of which, actual tangible actions that the Americans could take to expedite the cessation of the hostilities were outlined. In view of the speculations regarding Russia’s alleged hostile intentions against European states, it was stressed that no aggressive plans against Europe have ever entered our minds. The circulated myths about the Russian threat serve as a pretext for Europeans to ramp up their support for Ukraine and their own military expenses. Notably, during the telephone conversation, the Leaders agreed to continue the work on resolving humanitarian issues, including detainee and prisoner exchanges. Our President noted the efforts made by US First Lady Melania regarding the return of both Russian and Ukrainian children to their families. Overall, colleagues, I will reiterate that the conversation proceeded in an upbeat tone. ▪️ On September 8, 1941, the Siege of Leningrad began — one of the most horrific and tragic events not only of the Great Patriotic War but of the entire World War II. The siege lasted for 872 days and claimed the lives of approximately 1 million residents of the city, including more than 600'000 people who died from starvation. Alongside German troops, military units from European countries conquered by Hitler participated in the Siege of Leningrad — the 'Norway', 'the Netherlands' and 'Flanders' legions, as well as the Spanish infantry division. From the Narva direction, Baltic units — Latvian and Estonian battalions — were kept in reserve by the Nazis. From the north, the Finnish army besieged Leningrad and also shelled the city with its artillery. The Nazis and their accomplices planned to wipe Leningrad off the face of the Earth and subject its population to complete annihilation, including by creating conditions for mass starvation, destroying food supplies, and cutting off supply routes. *** In early September 1941, during the Leningrad Defensive Operation of the Red Army, the city was cut off by the Nazis from all land routes. On September 8, Hitler's troops captured Shlisselburg, completing the encirclement. The city was bombarded daily with artillery. The Nazi command's orders were absolutely clear: maintain the siege, strictly enforce the blockade, shoot anyone crossing the front line, and bring about the total destruction of the city's population. ❗️But Leningrad endured and never stopped fighting. Under unbearable conditions, the city's industrial enterprises continued to operate. During the blockade, workers produced or repaired about 2'000 tanks, 1'500 aircraft, 850 warships and vessels of various classes, as well as 225'000 submachine guns, 12'000 mortars, and 7.5 million shells and mines. The most famous memorial to the victims of the blockade is the Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery in Saint Petersburg — the largest mass military grave of World War II. 🇷🇺 🇺🇸 Comment by Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov following Vladimir Putin’s meeting with US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov: I would like to brief you on today’s meeting. Colleagues, as you know, at the instruction of the President of the United States, his representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner visited Moscow on September 5 to continue the dialogue on resolving the crisis in Ukraine and to discuss other pressing issues. This was their eighth visit to our country. President Vladimir Putin received the US representatives. At the very beginning of their conversation, he publicly praised this channel of mediation and the role played by the American negotiators. He also conveyed his best wishes to President Donald Trump and thanked him for his efforts to advance a settlement in Ukraine, as well as for his sincere desire to help achieve a swift and mutually acceptable outcome. What else can be added to what the President himself has already said? The conversation lasted more than three hours – three hours and ten minutes, to be precise. It was substantive, constructive, exceptionally frank, and conducted in an atmosphere of trust. The discussion, which covered extremely serious matters, continued both during the working portion of the meeting as well as in an informal setting over dinner. As regards the substance of the discussions, the Russian side provided clear and comprehensive assessments of the situation developing in the course of the special military operation. In particular, the Russian side highlighted the significant advances made by the Russian armed forces in the combat zone, expressed confidence that the set objectives would be achieved, and, obviously, stressed the need to address all the root causes of the conflict. Our President reaffirmed his commitment to continuing joint work with the American side to seek political and diplomatic solutions. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, for their part, undertook to draw on the observations and assessments conveyed to them personally by the Russian President regarding possible avenues toward a lasting and peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine during their meetings in Kiev tomorrow. Incidentally, our American colleagues had made considerable preparations for this trip. In addition to reiterating their traditional interest in bringing the hostilities to an early end, they put forward a number of considerations concerning possible ways of reaching a settlement. It is also worth noting that the Americans took particular note of a point emphasised by our President: namely, that the Kiev regime has already ceased to conceal its true nature, having begun the reburial of some of the most prominent Nazi criminals. The talks were not confined to an exchange of views on resolving the Ukrainian crisis. Economic issues were also discussed, including the prospects for major Russia-US projects that could be mutually beneficial to both sides. Overall, it can be said that the talks were timely and highly beneficial to both sides. It was confirmed that the Presidents of our countries will further maintain personal contact, and that the work conducted through Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will also continue.
