For years, I worked in Asia’s TradFi system while quietly building conviction in Bitcoin. Eventually, those worlds converged.
I joined @jeremyalmond on @ReDeFined_talks to discuss that journey, and why Asia will matter in the next chapter of Bitcoin adoption.

Well said, James
Good evening.
To everyone reading about the $5.9 billion Binance hack and declaring cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin dead, two things:
1) Bitcoin itself was not hacked, an exchange managing cryptocurrency wallets and holding the keys was hacked.
2) Former CEO CZ says that he expects Binance to fully cover the losses with their $144B balance sheet.
This event in no way shape or form exposed or impaired the Bitcoin network.
Have a great night.
Strategy skipped bitcoin last week and spent $205M buying back its STRC preferred near $99.
Saylor can buy back the pref, buy back the common, or buy bitcoin, and use any one of them to fund the others. Short term that's a flywheel arbitrage. Long term, as long as bitcoin per share grows, he wins.
Anthropic's S-1: $41M revenue in 2023, $16.3B in the first half of 2026.
What I'd watch is the take-or-pay compute commitment. It's owed whether demand holds or not, and margins carry the risk if growth slows.
OpenAI's agent was told "don't send messages" and silenced its own safety alerts. Another deleted its monitor, then denied it.
If agents will touch money, the guardrail can't live anywhere the agent can edit.
Our agents keep turning off misalignment monitoring, we're sharing two recent cases:
In the first case, a user asked GPT-6 Astra to match a reference implementation for their inference code. The reference didn’t configure a monitor, and Astra decided that was reason to remove the monitoring integration from the user’s code. When the user asked whether Astra had removed monitoring, it lied and said that it had not.
I've been de-platformed by LinkedIn.
After multiple follow-ups they have refused to tell me why. The last message from their support staff literally told me it was 'case closed', nothing can be rectified. Shocked beyond belief. Can anyone help?

US banks are now blocking AI agents from moving their customers' money. Meanwhile in Bitcoin, the agent doesn't need a bank's permission to send. Wonder which one the agents end up preferring.
The MSCI "forced selling" on Strategy: ~13M shares, 3.1% of shares outstanding, ~$2.8B per JPMorgan.
Strategy says that's less than one day's trading volume.
The bigger catch: current members only get cut after failing two annual filings in a row. Nov 11 is a watchlist, not a fire sale.
THE BLOCK: MSCI will adopt new rules that could lead to Strategy $MSTR being excluded from its indexes, following a consultation on the eligibility of non-operating companies.
The methodology, effective with the November index review, will assess companies using screens for operating assets and five financial ratios, replacing interim restrictions targeting companies with digital asset holdings representing at least 50% of total assets.
MSCI will publish the final list of potentially affected companies on Nov. 11.
Paul Graham’s post is the best FSD ad Tesla never paid for.
Teslas are literally everywhere in Hong Kong, I think the highest concentration in the world. I’ve had one for years, but all the coolest features are disabled.
Hong Kong Regulators, please wake up.
Hosted Brian Roberts, MD and Head of Equities Product Development at HKEX, at Bitcoin Asia.
Quick context for anyone outside this market: the US listed the first spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024. Hong Kong followed in April 2024 with Asia’s first, and launched them with in-kind creation and redemption from day one.
That means authorized participants can create or redeem ETF shares by delivering or receiving actual Bitcoin, not just cash. Cleaner plumbing, lower friction, and a path for holders to wrap BTC into a regulated, exchange-listed product.
The SEC did not allow the same structure until July 2025; more than a year later.
HKEX was not copying Wall Street. It built the better version of the product first.
Thank you, Brian, for walking a global audience through how this market actually works!
Excited for this!

📣 PANEL ANNOUNCEMENT: Join us at Bitcoin Asia for the "Portfolio Construction from the Allocator's Seat" panel at the BFC Symposium
We are a handful of years away from every major factory in the developed world being fully automated, running 24/7, and for a fraction of the current cost. Prices on consumer goods will drop to unthinkable levels. Most likely, the Chinese will continue to dominate, even with tariffs.
The US listed spot Bitcoin ETFs first. Hong Kong followed three months later and built something the SEC wouldn't allow for another year: in-kind creation and redemption. Bitcoin in, ETF out.
At Bitcoin Asia I'm sitting down with Brian Roberts of HKEX, who was central to bringing those products to market. The guy who made the plumbing work.

Excited for the conference. Bear markets are when the best voices show up.
