It’s not a “complex political issue,” it’s a decades-long military occupation, apartheid, land theft, and ongoing GENOCIDE against Palestinians.
Ed Sheeran breaks his silence on Israel-Gaza at his first show amid controversy.
“This has put me in the middle of an important and passionate argument about freedom of speech and the most complex political issue on the planet.”

The world is preparing for war, but you would not necessarily know that from U.S. news.
NATO is ready to respond to a potential Russian escalation on Europe’s eastern flank, the alliance's top general Adm. Giuseppe Cavo Dragone said today, amid growing warnings of a possible staged attack by Moscow. politico.eu/article/nato-rea…

Liberal zionists, which is to say the entire Dem Party establishment, is putting a lot of energy and money into seeing Netanyahu defeated so they can fake like his opposition is meaningfully different and buy themselves a couple more years of relatively low intensity genocide

Israel live-streamed the killing of 20,000+ children for 2yrs with 80%+ support within Israel and we’re still doing the “Israel needs better PR” “it’s the settlers/far right” routine. Begging people to engage with the actual polls and the inherent dynamics of settler colonies.

Ed Sheeran went solo in Philly after his entire support lineup quit over Macklemore's removal — then broke down on stage talking about Gaza.
At Lincoln Financial Field last night, Sheeran opened with a long statement. He apologized for "difficult decisions" and "mistakes," said he never wanted to be political but can't stay silent anymore:
"What is happening in Gaza is catastrophic and unjustifiable and disproportionate."
He called October 7 and the Nova attack "horrific and compounded centuries of Jewish pain," said his heart is broken by civilian and children's deaths, and added:
"The systemic injustice we're seeing unfold in the West Bank cannot be overlooked."
He acknowledged he's still "listening and learning because I do not know enough."
Reports say he wept before going into "Castle on the Hill."

Just checking in on the guy a lot of people told us to take seriously as a non-partisan mayor of Los Angeles

He could have said nothing at all and it would have had the same effect as whatever he thought he was doing by making this "statement." This is garbage.

BREAKING: Netanyahu has cut short his trip to the US and cancelled the planned Texas stop, flying to New York and returning to Israel the same day, shortly after Trump cut short his own weekend at Camp David to return to the White House tonight instead of tomorrow, citing the potential for significant escalation in the Middle East.
At the same time, US embassies across the entire Middle East have issued security alerts for American citizens in the past hours.
Trump said on Thursday he is approaching "a major turning point in the war with Iran" and asked "Do I want to go in and annihilate them or do I not?"

This is straight up HR reading from a legally approved script before they lay you off energy. Having to read from a prompter about a moral position is CRAZY. Worst crisis PR I’ve seen in a long time.
Fucking spineless pussy
UPDATE
An emotional Ed Sheeran admits that he made mistakes in the last week in handling the issue between venues and Macklemore.
Sheeran says that he is “deeply worried about the idea that venues should pre-approve content with performers.”
He acknowledges the October 7 attack on Israel and then goes on to say, “What is happening in Gaza is catastrophic and unjustifiable and disproportionate.”
He adds, “The systemic injustice we’re seeing unfold in the West Bank cannot be overlooked.”
Sheeran says that he is speaking to people to “make a contribution that helps victims of these terrible times” and that he is “listening and learning” because “I do not know enough.”

Ed Sheeran addresses the controversy surrounding Macklemore’s removal from his tour and says, “What is happening in Gaza is catastrophic and unjustifiable.”
“Before I play some songs tonight, I hope it’s okay if I say a few words about this last week,” Sheeran said at the top of Saturday’s show. “I’m used to my music being criticized, and I’m always happy to take that because I’m lucky. A lot of you like my stuff, and to be honest, I’m surprised. I’m not surprised that I’ve even done it. You know, it’s normal. But this week, the criticism was about something much more important, and I’ve had to take and make difficult decisions, and I am making mistakes, and I’m so so sorry.”
Sheeran also said he was “appalled by the conflict between Israel and Palestine,” describing the suffering caused by the war as a “human tragedy,” while explaining that he has generally sought to keep his concerts focused on “unity, joy, escapism, love” rather than his own political views.

it’s funny cus i agree with you that abdul shouldn’t have to defend statements of mine even if they are true and not “crazy” because they’re not going to help him win michigan and i also think it’s good he’s campaigning w kamala to win other voters. having said that you have weird animosity towards me for some insane reason even though you love every candidate that has asked me to come help at different times, where’s the disconnect?
