Odd that someone who fancies “1970’s Baseball” - an era made fun by Mark Fidrych, Al Hrabosky, and a hot-dogging rookie named Rickey Henderson - would have a problem with this.
To @StevenACohen2 -
Aren’t you embarrassed by juvenile, Caribbean ball bush league antics during this last place season?
Does your organization not at any level have even one tough-minded veteran or coach to teach players how to conduct themselves like men and Major Leaguers?

Vladdy is a generational talent in a generational slump.
Baseball isn’t easy.
He’ll get it going again. He’s human, he earned a ton of grace last October.
He needs to remember who he is. I’m looking forward to the comeback.

From the minute you became a Blue Jay, you embraced this city and this country as if it was your own.
Thank you, Gausy, for all that you’ve meant to this team, to this community, to our clubhouse, and to this fanbase 💙

I rarely comment on departing players, but Kevin Gausman is different. A thoughtful, reliable and impressive person to cover.
All of the reasons #BlueJays fans were drawn to Gausman are genuine and real.
Model player, model representative of this organization. He did it right.

I can't believe I actually need to explain this to another grownup, but for starters, crosses and bible verses are overt religious symbols while pride hats aren't.
Honestly, I think a lot of people fundamentally misunderstand the point of pride night: by wearing the hat, you're not abandoning your own religious convictions and you're not trying to convert anyone to a particular lifestyle or belief system; you're simply showing support for a historically marginalized group of folks by saying that it's okay to be yourself and that a person isn't inherently worthless just because of who they are. It's really not asking a lot, is it?
And if you aren't lucky enough to have gay friends in your life, you should get some because (a) you'll have more visibility into the shit they deal with on the regular and (b) their weddings are always 10x more fun.
For everyone who's got a problem with the MLB players writing Bible verses on their hats during their team's Pride Night game, I've got another scenario for you.
An MLB team decides to have Christian Night at the Park, and requires each player to wear a hat with a cross on it, rather than the team's logo.
What's your response?

Kirk has barely played
Barger has barely played
Haven't had a complete healthy rotation all season
Vladdy has 3 HRs
Still a .500 ball club and in a playoff spot
DO NOT let us get healthy

Brandon Valenzuela is a stud defensively.
Notice how catchers don't throw to the bag anymore. Each of these throws is right where he wants it, down the line toward 1B so the fielder can catch and apply the tag earlier on the runner. Replay has helped the game learn this is better than throwing to the base.

Only 3 pitchers in MLB history have begun a season over their first 4 starts with:
30+ strikeouts
Sub 2.50 ERA
0 wins
2 of the 3 are 2026 Toronto Blue Jays:
Kevin Gausman (0-1, 2.42, 31 K)
Dylan Cease (0-0, 1.74, 32 K)

The people already listing the George Springer bobblehead on eBay should never be allowed in the stadium ever again
I can't believe this is a real take from a real MLB analyst.
Maybe we should stop gatekeeping these jobs for former players and people in broadcasting (IYKYK) if they're going to say ridiculous shit like this that shows a fundamental lack of understanding about the game.
I can't believe this needs to be said, but ALL SEXUAL ASSAULT IS BAD AND EVIL!
Why the fuck are you even opening up an inquiry as to the potential severity of any assault?
But since you need clarity.. Some of the assault in question was knowingly infecting women with HIV.

The way some folks will go out of their way to defend objectively awful people just so they can whine about "cancel culture".
They do it because they fear the potential of being "cancelled" for their own shitty behaviour.
Huge props to @JohnnyGiunta_ for calling Simmons out.
