Malinin: To put it honestly, that day was when I realized I loved skating more than anything. If I don't care about anything, I will throw it away, push it aside. Those Olympics impacted me, and I wanted to come back for Worlds - it shows that I care about this sport. I keep doing it because it's my passion, it's my inspiration, it's the thing that keeps me going everyday

Malinin on higher difficulty: The Olympic season is where you start practicing what you're most comfortable with. The new season is about experimenting. I approached this season to try to have the hardest programs in the world - I want to improve physically, whether it's transitions, artistry, or technical. We'll see if I can live up to what I put out there

It’s gruesome watching Americans pontificate about the power of friendship & the necessity of maintaining a state of perpetual naivety, fully knowing that both sides will continue to slaughter people & destabilize regions outside their borders.
