We’re proud for our president Elsa Flores to receive the Hispanic Heritage public service award from @houmayor with Willy Gonzalez from @unitehere23 Together we’ve raised wages and improved standards for workers across Houston, and we’re excited to do even more in the future!
Workers are scared to go to work. We need ICE out of our communities and we need leaders like Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia and Congressman Christian Menefee who will fight for us in Washington. Go to iamerica.org/take-action/ to take action too!
We need to end this national nightmare where masked agents are attacking the workers who make our economy function. We need to unite for a future where everyone can live and work with dignity! Go to iamerica.org/take-action/ to find out what you can do to build that future
With every call, we’re hearing that working people across the country are facing the same struggles: losing access to healthcare, struggling to afford groceries and gas, and living in fear of ICE. That’s why we’re showing up for each other at the ballot box! #MoneyPowerRespect
Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, we will never forget you. Houston is your home. Through Daniel Anguilu's mural honoring your life, your neighbors will see your face every day. We'll keep organizing and fighting for the dignity, justice & belonging that every immigrant worker deserves.
No one should fear for their life simply for going to work. That’s why today, service and care workers from SEIU Texas are gathered outside our office to honor Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, who was killed by ICE on his way to work. #MoneyPowerRespect
“This mural is more than a memorial,” said Elsa Flores, president of SEIU Texas. “It is a promise to fight for justice and transparency for Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and to end ICE violence." Watch LIVE: youtube.com/live/IZ7b6DI_a5U…

Workers & patients are demanding REAL RAISES for Del Sol & Las Palmas hospital workers! We want to provide for patients & our families, but @HCAhealthcare is offering less than 30 cents/hour in raises. Like, comment & share to support hospital workers! 👩🏽⚕️
Workers at @HCAhealthcare hospitals Las Palmas & Del Sol in #ElPaso demand higher pay. We're essential to patient care, but we're paid as little as $13.50 an hour 😲. youtube.com/live/wGuKYJEPEPg…

Our healthcare is under attack! Working people across America are at risk of losing their healthcare so that #GreedyCEOs can receive more tax breaks. Next month, we’re voting for candidates who prioritize affordable and accessible healthcare. We’re teaming up with @FamiliesUSA to ensure that everyone, no matter who they are or where they are from, has care.
It’s time to get out the vote in Houston! Join us as we talk to our friends and neighbors and remind them to vote!
Join us, @SEIULatino and SEIU Secretary Treasurer Rocio Saenz as we celebrate hispanic heritage month with a Houston day of action! We’ll knock on doors and make phone calls to remind our friends and neighbors to vote for candidates like @jamestalarico and @GinaHinojosaTX!
