If you’re looking for a very weird, very expensive and tall boyfriend, I’m taking applications. $25 application fee, or really as much as you can afford to send me ASAP, for my odd projects and legalistic fights for freedom of expression and freedom of inquiry, bees & botany.
Trump is as corrupt and should also resign.
BREAKING: U.S. Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, resigns after allegations of improper conduct. apnews.com/article/trump-amb…
Strange that the NYT went with three white faces to illustrate this story, when members of color face the worst harassment and threats, few more so than Rep. Ilhan Omar, who was targeted this morning by a federal raid.
Here name doesn't even appear in the story.
Serving in public office in the U.S. is dangerous. A new normal of violent threats is making it worse, dozens of elected officials told the New York Times. nyti.ms/3VHM0Az

In the past 72 hours, Trump has torched a couple decades of American policy. He lifted sanctions on the import of Russian diesel fuel, financing Putin's war-crime attacks on Ukrainian civilians. "He has threatened to stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine, unless Ukraine agrees not to target Russian refineries, thus demanding that Kyiv give up its most effective weapon while asking nothing from Russia in exchange. He has not criticized Russian attacks on Ukrainian power plants or factories.... He has offered no condolences for the recent deaths of Ukrainian children in Russian bombing raids." theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…

This can’t be good: Murdoch owned WSJ has the receipts! Ken Paxton partied with US fugitives on New Years Eve in Dubai. And Lordy, there are tapes!

Is this what MAGA means by conservative American family values? Is this what Nick Shirley means by healthcare fraud?
“Paxton partied in Dubai with two fugitives from U.S. justice and a woman who wasn’t his wife.”
Replying to @efindell
In Dubai, Paxton and his girlfriend watched fireworks at a party with two fugitives who had failed to return to the U.S. to face federal healthcare fraud charges. One of them, Anosh Ahmed, had donated $190,000 to Paxton.

Amazing shot! 😍 Storms over the southeastern part of the Valley are winding down, with lingering showers and storms over southern NV and northwestern AZ expected to continue moving northeast, diminishing by tonight. Drier conditions return tomorrow onward.

Donald Trump has used racist and dehumanizing language to target Ilhan Omar for nearly a decade. This is one more escalation in his campaign to use the power of the federal government to target anyone he perceives as a political enemy.
It’s fascism and abuse of office on a scale we have never seen. This is the stuff of dictatorships. I stand firmly with Rep. Ilhan Omar, and we will not be intimidated by Trump’s police state.

Soldiers have a duty to reject orders to commit war crimes. They also have a duty to report war crimes when they occur. That's what the Israeli soldiers did in the film NAZA. Netanyahu wants to prosecute them. trib.al/5nbT6dA

Status of Russian Yandex Cloud services: all down, nothing works. Turns out the best disaster recovery plan for a Russian cloud is Kazakhstan. Ukrainian drones have hit 3 of Yandex's 5 Russian data centers since. Looks like drones delivering explosive zero-day explosive payloads at ~150 km/h are effective against cyber infrastructure.

Ilhan Omar has taken years of Trump's attacks & never backed down
Now this admin has federal agents searching her home

We currently see no signs from Russia that it wants to end the war. We see no basic steps toward de-escalation. Everyone is talking about diesel and forgetting about grain. In a month or two, everyone will start talking about an agricultural crisis. There won’t be enough food for countries across Africa, some Asian countries, and the Middle East, because we export millions of tons of grain to these very markets. And now Russia is blocking the sea.
The United States isn’t feeling the effects of this, which is why the focus is only on energy. This is another challenge. It’s hunger. And it can affect many countries. And we need to think about everything and everyone, because we all live on this planet. We can prevent many different crises before they even begin and avert the challenges they bring.

Judges must stop trusting the government.
Replying to @kyledcheney
REYES on a tear: "I was hearing from everybody on plaintiffs side that this was going to happen. I said repeatedly no, I trust the government. I trusted you all not to do precisely what you have done. Not only does that make it inexcusable ... I am just at a total loss to understand what has happened here, other than — Occam’s razor time — that the government precisely intended to do precisely what it has done, which is intentionally delay letting the pantiffs and the court know what is happening so they can put a plan in place to clear hundreds and hundreds of trees."

Why is Trump cutting a deal with Putin, financing his war-crime attacks on Ukrainian civilians to perhaps lower the price of diesel fuel a smidgen as US midterms approach, while ignoring Russia's attack on Ukrainian electricity as winter approaches? nitter.cf/ZelenskyyUa/status/210…
I don’t believe the volume of diesel Russia will export will affect the price. Moreover, we see that they can export from 300,000 to 500,000 tons a month today. Meanwhile, global consumption stands at 120 million tons a month. What kind of impact can that have? I don’t think it would have any. If some people think otherwise, so be it.
So I believe there are entirely different reasons behind these actions. If this is the approach, then why isn’t America making a “diesel deal” with Ukraine? Let Ukraine propose a “diesel deal.” We do have influence over whether these ships can sail or not, whether these refineries can operate or not. If that’s the case, then let’s do it.
Electricity is what matters to us. That’s clear. If we can be guaranteed protection for our power system, then we will not strike Russia’s diesel infrastructure in response. Electricity is first and foremost about helping people – keeping their lights on. It also means helping Europe. Everyone knows that we are connected to the European power grid. And if our energy infrastructure is not being destroyed, we can help some countries that are facing shortages by supplying them with cheaper electricity.
So, yes, let’s sign a corresponding “diesel deal” with the President of the United States.
