Electric co-ops are places to build a career, develop your skills & make a difference in the community you call home. Whether you’re keeping the lights on, helping a member save energy, maintaining critical infrastructure or supporting the people who do, your work matters.

Scheduling system maintenance now can help your heating system run more efficiently this winter. Replace your air filter regularly and schedule a professional tune-up before the winter chill arrives. A well-maintained system can improve comfort and help manage energy use.

SEC knows the best solutions start with listening. Because our members guide our future, we’re able to focus on what matters most here at home. Local voices. Local leadership. Local solutions. That’s just one of the many reasons we celebrate the cooperative difference in October.

Utility impersonation scams are increasingly convincing. A scammer may claim SEC is about to disconnect your service, then demand immediate payment through an unusual method. If you receive an unexpected payment request, pause & verify it. Call SEC at 1-800-333-2859 to verify.

Co-ops come in all shapes and sizes, but each has something important in common: co-ops reflect the communities they serve. No two co-ops––or even electric co-ops for that matter––are exactly alike… because every community has unique needs.

Thermostat settings can make a big difference on energy bills. On cooler days, lower the thermostat and raise it during days that are warmer. On milder days, consider turning off your heating/cooling system altogether.

As we celebrate National Co-op Month, recognizing our members is a must! Members are the heart of co-ops. Unlike traditional businesses that are led by investors or shareholders, co-ops are led by the members they serve––and that positively impacts priorities.

Electric cooperatives are member-owned, non-profit utilities that put community first. By working together in a three-tier network—from local neighborhood power lines to regional generation plants—co-ops ensure our region receives safe and reliable energy buff.ly/XXVmr1z
