The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District is Powered by ShakeAlert! They are ready to ShakeOut on 10/15! BART will test their emergency response systems and raise public awareness of the importance of having a plan and being prepared. At 10:15am, BART will trigger their ShakeAlert-powered system automatically slowing all trains to 27mph and then to a very brief stop. They will also make a systemwide public announcement encouraging riders to be prepared for earthquakes.
