This GoFundMe culture is out of control. Yes, I’m sorry you got harassed, and you didn’t deserve it, but you should’ve controlled your emotions. Giving this guy $100K+ is the dumbest thing imaginable.
I’m not against GoFundMe when people are genuinely screwed over by circumstances beyond their control. But I hate this routine of throwing around GoFundMe links whenever someone dies tragically or experiences basic life shit and hardships. Move fucking on!
If this person were a White woman, all of social media would be enraged and attacking her as a “Karen” and blah, blah, blah. I don’t particularly dislike this guy, but I strongly dislike this effort to sympathize with him because, by doing so, we’re putting money in his pocket.
